What a fantastic movie!! Alejandro is so tremendously talented, it is beyond comprehension. He is a visionary, he sees things in such mesmerizing ways, it defies belief! All of his work is truly phenomenal, and "The Revenant" is another testament of his amazing ability to capture history in a motion picture. Well done, sir Inarritu :) :) And also well done, Leonardo DiCaprio. Beautifully portrayed.

The Reverent was Dicaprio's best performances. This movie was so touching and beautifully put together, from the cast to the cinematography an absolute must see.

+Willem Sanders he has one issue though.. he will find a lot of criticism, a LOT, because of following his viceral vision. Sometimes the audience will found themselves on disagreement with certain scenes or dialogs but that's the price you have to pay for following your vision, you cause a bifurcation in the audience.

Israel Moreno Amores Perros was good, loved 21 Grams and fell in love with BABEL. Biutiful with Javier Bardem was excellent. My first Inarritu film I saw in theaters. Didn't see Birdman in theaters unfortunately, I was recovering from a surgery. But saw it on DVD and it blew my mind.

Uh, if they wanted to downplay the revenge aspect, then why did they add a halfbreed son to avenge? Glass's revenge was a matter of his survival; he needed something to drive him. Even in the book on which this film is supposedly based, the main symbol of that goal is Glass's long rifle. Fitzgerald and Bridger (to a lesser extent) not only left him for dead, but they took the one thing any frontiersman would need to survive in that period: his rifle. Even in the Richard Harris film 'Man in the Wilderness', the Glass-inspired protagonist (as "Bass") transcends the lust for revenge by the time he's able to quench it. It was only ever a means to an end. The end being life -- something revenge would have undermined after surviving such a harrowing journey. Just as the murder of his son undermines the personal doom dealt upon Glass. It turns his survival from an act of perseverance and defiance into one of one-dimensional rage. I'm still looking forward to this film (have been since John Hillcoat and Christian Bale were attached), but that change is such a fundamental fuck up.
