Eric, you did a good job reviewing the Ranger, now you need to try Hilux both on and offroad, and you will understand why it is the best selling ute around the world, be it in SA or Australia. In July, God willing,i may give you that opportunity to try mine, a 6-speed manual 2.8 D4-D ute...you wont think of a Ranger again. From the more better fuel consumption, towing a heavier load, and grinds offroad vibaya sana...i'll be doing a road trip from Zambia to Nairobi...Hilux is the best allrounded ute.

Very nice to see the Big Bad Ford here finally. And you're right about automatics. The Ford 10R80 transmission is getting such a good reputation, and it's as economical as a CVT while being lively and swallowing all the torque from 6 liter engines. I hope to see the latest Everest here one day.

But if you want a proper review of Ford Ranger ask our National Government Adminstrative Officers, i.e Ministry of Interior. They used those vehicles long enough to pass truest judgement. In short my fellow kenyans , there is no vehicle there, "hakuna gari hapo"

I like your reviews.I'm a commercial off roader (meaning, I have a single cabin, 2006 Ford ranger J97 pickup)Its 2.5TD.I've heard it for 9 good years and its been very reliable, scaling 50 degree ascents with a 1.5 ton load of agricultural produce. I have the old l200 warrior, an year 2004 with a 4m40 engine auto trans double cab. Its a beautiful truck but maintenance is key. Personally, I'd go for the 4m41 or Did engine. 4m40 is kinda very old school and kinda slow in my humble opinion. I have a pajero also BTW. I have seen people do mods to the 4m40, bigger turbos, catch cans, intercoolers, overall, I use mine for heavy duty jobs and it's been very reliable..

Ford Ranger Wildtrack, Raptor, XLT and Everest both V6 are coming as a result of VW+Ford deal. This will be distributed beginning mid 2022/2023. Ranging from 2.0CC bi-turbo to 3.0CC. I think this will be best track. Raptor is crazy because it’s V6 3.0CC Gasoline. Again in 2023, we shall have VW Amarok V6 3.0CC new shape still having prototypes. Hilux got to wake up.

Am pretty sure this question is not directed to me but note that bmw and the garage are parallel. Only thing that differs is how frequently youll pay your mechanic a visit depending on the model. Lucky for you its a 320, youll still make your mechanic rich but not as much as the 5 series guy. ( personal opinion)
