Most of Imperial and Chaos would pass just for having Terminators. Guard has Ogryns, and Admech has the Ruststalkers. There's probably a Chaos Daemon equivalent. Orks have Mega Armour Nobz, T'au have a choice of Stealth Suits or Crisis Suits (but Crisis suits are vehicles now for some reason). Idk much about Aeldari or Drukhari, but Nids would just submit Warriors.

Just a heads up, turning Pick-ups into war machines is an extremely powerful and cheap way to create and mobilize a monster force. They are called "technicals". Look up the "Great Toyota War", where in Chad and Libya armies confronted each other, one with massive stopping power (Mi-24 helicopters, 6 airplanes, 300 T-55 battle tanks, multiple artillery and 8,000+ soldiers) and a much smaller force of Chadians (you heard it here folks, a literal army of Chads) with essentially nothing but some rifles, and a fraction of their size. They won the entire war by converting the Toyota Hilux (roughly 400 of them) into fast, all-terrain vehicles with greater mobility and the ability to re-position, out-flank and out-maneuver the Libyan army, with essentially Anti-air or light anti-tank/heavy anti-infantry weapons platforms on the back (think autocannons). The big turning point was when in a single 18 hour battle, the Chadians managed to take beat an army of 5,000 Libyan soldiers, killing 800+ and destroying 92 T-55 battle tanks, at the cost of 18 soldiers and 3 Toyota Hilux's. Wars win off of functionality, never aesthetics! When you min/max, it doesn't matter if you're driving a truck that literally can't even stop an AK-74 round from going straight through the entire vehicle, even the engine block, and killing somebody, because you're never going to be hit in the first place. :) Making this comment because of 13:50 I heard what you said! I hate pick-up trucks, and I especially hate pick-up truck drivers (on the road), but I would never insult the god given design of the Toyota Hilux. (This is a true story, feel free to look it up! The Chadians won the war, in the sense that they were finally able to bring the war to a close and peace talks to ensue as the Libyans were the ones trying to take their land)

@@De_La_Evo I mean the Technical is functionally similar to chariots. Lightly armored, fast and equipped with a ranged weapon. Able to carry a small amount of troops exactly where they need to be and get back out fast. Even modern special forces guys have been known to bop around in very lightly or even basically unarmored dune buggies and trucks with half a dozen machine guns, TOW missiles, recoilless rifles and grenade launchers bolted to them. Depending on the terrain a bunch of well coordinated guys moving fast with long range weapons can punch way above their weight. Especially with future gubbins like melta guns, lascannons and cyber-eagles or servo-skulls. Not for every foe but hey for kicking the hell out of uppity rebels, criminals or feral xenos, a truck with a big stubber is still a good deal.

16:20 5-7e Guard players remember being able to shoot 5 people out of the top. It's got better guns than the Rhino, you can actually just about match a couple loadouts of Razorback between the turret and hull mount. It's weapons are all pretty much anti-infantry though and not tank-like.

I’m sure a billion people have already said this, but the Rhino is based on an IRL US military vehicle; the M113; colloquially known as the battle taxi. The thing is literally just a metal box with tank treads and a 50 cal. bolted to the top. In addition, it has a modular design, allowing you to attach ridiculous crap to the back of it (ie the razorback) for added absurdity.

To push back against the Clear Eldar bias, the Wave Serpent I think embodies a rule about the rhino that wasn't considered, that it in no way looks like it can hold 10 dudes. The Wave Serpent looks bigger than you think because of the fins, but in reality its storage is like 2/3rd the side of the rhino.

The only transport that does the “we only carry 5 man squads” right (other than the Starweaver) is the Aeldari Falcon, and that’s because Eldar have the various Aspect Warriors, which do just fine in 5 man squads. Especially if they have a Falcon backing them up. It still isn’t great, but there is at least support in the list for 5 man infantry squads.

The Devilfish in 3rd was a REQUIREMENT to take with Pathfinders. Pathfinders had Infiltrate, so the Tank they took had infiltrate which meant the couldn’t be shot until they were spotted, but the fact the Devilfish had the Tank keyword meant they were INSTANTLY spotted. The devilfish actively made the unit they were transporting worse..:):p

The Dunerider was awesome in 8th edition (and 9th before the 9th edition book came out) I was really excited to start an Admech army, and I got ready to do so for the 9th edition book. Then this book completely changed them to a more horde-style army, and the army I had planned was obsolete. I ended up selling all my admech. I just have a couple of things left which I kept for conversions/bits box.
