Love This! I was 28 when I read this. Lived with my parents, lost without any direction. No money. No nothing. Two years later. I bought land in Montana. Received 3 degrees from a JC in agriculture. Started a wine label in Sonoma County,CA. Became the largest land holder in family by the time I was 35. Long Story, Short. I am exactly where I want to be, doing exactly what I want to be doing in my life, that is true wealth to me!

In the 2 years I have started listening to this book and eventualy buying and reading about this book I have literally gone from $0 to $14K (almost R200K)... This is massive considering that I am from South Africa, I'm the first in my family to get a college degree and the first to have 0 debt. It's hard sometimes seeing friends and family living their best lives. But I remember the principles and reel myself back , re-read and re-listen to this. When I was 48, I had saved $13,000. By the time I was 60, I was able to buy my first apartment building with $45000 downpayment from savings. Six months later, I bought a small apartment complex of 12 more apartments. Less than five more years, I was able to sell the complex for 1.5 million dollars. When all was settled, I was now financially secure. 18 years had passed. This works if you don’t give up.

Practical. I Just finished reading “Rich Dad Poor Dad”. The last 2-3 years I’ve been researching what financial freedom is defined by, but also what it meant for me. I didn’t finish college in 2017 and started doing delivery. Opportunity came and late 2018 with my father in law telling me his job is hiring a cad drafter for $10/hr. I had some skill, but learned fast, til today. I was 24 taking that job. I stopped renting and owning a new home became opportunistic at the age of 26. This month I just turned 28 and have my first job paying me six figures. I will be quitting my job in 24 months, and hope to reach MY Financial Freedom, Or “Independence” by 33. Practical Consistency.

It is not about achieving quick wealth but rather ensuring long term financial prosperity.

The single part that hits me every time I hear it, that has now really impacted me is this; "What have you to show for your earnings of the past year? Fool! You pay everyone but yourself!" It really dawned on me when, after reading that (for the third time), I counted every salary payment I received over the past year and realised my paymemt account was next to empty and my savings account containing a measly 300$. It's about time I am finally going to take this seriously and put this book yo use...

@theizzoshow51802 жыл бұрын
@@LatinRoses Hey man so I’ve been doing some research and land investment is a pretty good one for guys starting out like us. Might buy some land and raise some livestock (goats, ducks), cuz land is cheap here in PA and there’s a need for local sourcing, especially for meats that’s are more desirable to foreigners like Goat meat (Africans, Arabs), and Duck (Asians).
@LatinRoses2 жыл бұрын
@@theizzoshow5180 That sounds great. Unfortunately, I live in expensive California. Land here is astronomically high. Any other ideas?
@theizzoshow51802 жыл бұрын
@@LatinRoses Yes. Another real estate strategy I have in the plans is this: 1. Finance house with multiple rooms 2. After a year or 2 (need to own the house for a bit before you can rent out), rent out house. The rent money will pay off the house over time, and eventually you will profit. 3. Take equity out on that house, and use it to buy/finance the next available house on the block 4. Rinse and repeat. Before we know it, we’ll own whole neighborhoods if all goes well. Also, rent out on the higher end. If you do, and actually get tenants, everyone else will see that you’ve done it, and so will they. Boom, just like that, you’ve boosted the market value of all the real estate near by, because now everyone is charging more. It won’t happen right away though, which is good because it gives time for us to buy the houses as our value is increasing. This method, takes a bit more time and resources, starting with good credit. Buy and finance houses on the outskirts of the major cities. This is not professional advice btw. This is just ideas and information I’ve gathered this past year on my journey to understand and begin investing.

You should try "Rich Dad, Poor Dad" next. It teaches that the correct type of debt can save you money by tax discounts and lower tax rates on rental income.

Wow. I just finished this book. The lessons behind it are so obvious yet few people heed to them. It is more like a wake up call I desperately needed. I WILL be back to listen to this. My financial journey is tiresome but I actually have it way easier the Babylonians did. There was no risk of being a slave and having all options taken away from you. We have all the time and opposing the world. I have no excuses, to everyone reading and listening, all the best with your finance journey!❤️

@@gabmastaqc it’s funny, once you stick to your budget, and start seeing the money saved. You realize all these money gurus are BS. Paid off my car while back, than just took that monthly amount, saved that too. Literally put my budget on steroids! GL to u! 💪🏾

About 1/4 of the way in and this is the best book I’ve ever listened to about money. I’ve read and listened to about a dozen to a dozen and a half books about money and although I understood the concepts I never could fully grasp them. I’ve heard all of these concepts before but the way they have been conveyed in this book is extraordinary. Almost feels like I’m listening to “The Republic” by Plato. This has changed my life no doubt about it. I’m Not a very spiritual person but it’s almost like these simple ideas have finally began to resonate and spring the first fruits. I was always looking for some hidden secret or some knowledge unknown to me. I now know that I had the relevant information all along but just wasn’t able to fully comprehend it let alone utilize it. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!
