@@MikeB12800 This is indeed episode one (Of the animated podcasts) and features Monkey News as a continuation of the regular radio segment, it had been around for years by this point. This episode features the story of the Russian chimps sent to space, "Hit the left button", "Banana dispenser" etc. Either Frank cut it out or they have some edited copy of the show.

I totally agree with Karl about special senses, I know when a spider's nearby...my skin crawls, I look around & there it is. Once a spider woke me up climbing up the back of the bedside cabinet, my husband said " if it's that noisy it must be huge" so we spent an hour looking for it. It was that big the Hoover had to come out, neither of us wanted to touch it.🕷🕸😆

These guys are great. ....But I would also very highly recommend After Work Reactions - if you like this then I can pretty much 100% guarantee you'll like it. It's one guy, Josh, with a very infectious laugh, and a very similar sense of humour to these guys. The shows they react to are similar, and like you say about these two he doesn't chip in every couple of minutes to talk about stuff. He's really good. He's also reacted to all of this series, along with pretty much everything Karl-related he could get his hands on. He's a big fan of Karl by now.

Karls actually right on 2 points! 1) we do have way more than 5 senses including: thirst, hunger, proprioception, temperature, pain, and...GAZE PERCEPTION. The ability to sense eyes looking at you 2) they did train a monkey to press buttons in space. But that was as a way to check it was conscious and retained the abilities it was trained in. Ricky says "thats pavlovian condition but that was to see if a dog will salivate to a bell" karl says "no the other one. The next one up" Hes irght. Its called operant conditioning by BF Skinner and as karl says if you give an animal a treat you can teach it behaviours like pressing a certain button when a red light flashes

I've heard the tankard story before but it was story that set an example about how mystical answers to questions are weak in comparison to their actual explanations. Where the story goes in this alternate version: Turns out that the tankard had seen service in India with a British "Leftenant" and while drunkenly walking home, tankard in hand, he ran into a venomous snake. Being too drunk to know any better he crushed the beast's head with his tankard. A few weeks later he was killed in action and all his belongings were sent home to his family. Well, it turns out that every single one of his relatives that received this tankard died just after they reached the legal drinking age with the last owner living into his 40s, because he was religious and didn't drink. That is until his wife left him and he decided that this was the day he would start drinking. He grabbed the mug his great uncle left him before he died and took it to the local pub. Well sufficed to say, as soon as he slapped the tankard onto the bar he had a heart attack which killed him almost instantly. Some time later, after several more people died, a Vicker came by to look at the tankard thinking that he could put this myth to rest. Well, after he died, they finally called for a scientist to see if there was anything unusual about the thing. The scientist, who was a sucker for data, chose not to touch the thing until he'd had a look at it under a magnifying glass. After hemming and hawing for a while, he straightened up and gave an explanation that left everyone speechless. Apparently, the tankard's first owner, having crushed the snake's head also managed to catch one of its fangs in the handle of the tankard, and everyone who touched the handle after that was injected with one of the quickest acting venoms in the world. By looking at the cross-section of the fang he could even tell which snake it was, the common krait, one of the most venomous snakes in India.
