I have a Ricoh 500 GX - same camera, but has a double exposure feature. I like the fact it can operate without a battery, so it can be used anywhere.

A f/2,8 lens is fast enough. It keeps the price, the weight and the size low. Put any 400 ISO film in the camera all the year round and get happy. Any cheap lab can develop the films. Buy a Lidl scanner for € 50,00. Clic clac, merci .......

if there is no battery placed, will the auto exposure still works?

The automatic mode needs the battery but if you select the manual mode it works fine without a battery

Hello, mine came with that case but I know what you mean I have some cameras like that, In that situation, I leave the case at home when I go out shooting....radical but it works with me...
