I too was thinking about this. Generally, these videos only highlight the photogenic parts and don't cover the battle of the mind that happens with the combination of solitude and challenge. Life is a long battle; the more we subject ourselves to discomfort, the more we grow and learn to become adaptive. It is a story of one hundred thousand generations. This video got me thinking about doing such a journey next year as a bookmark in my life. Well done.

KZbin just started putting videos like this in my feed - I love how gravel bikes allow us to climb mountains and explore our world immersively, but still allow us to cover great distances. I am amazed at all the gorgeous backroads you were able to take to get to your destination. The amount of vertical you had to climb is astounding! You did your own Tour de France! Thanks for showing us a very personal view of Europe we've never seen before.

This is simply the best cycling video I’ve seen. You capture the physical, psychological and emotional parts of the human-powered travel experience, and the beauty and challenges of the natural world you move so gracefully through. It’s poetic!

Spot on! The mind gives up before the body. All it takes is changing your thought patterns. I´ve been a cycling for more than 25 years. I´ve done all the major climbs in Pyrenees, Alps and Dolomites. It takes a lot of courage to confront such a big challenge and to face such a demanding sport with no previous experience. BRAVO!! Oso Ondo!!

Thank you for a refreshingly different 'sharing' of your journey - no boasts about 'solo female travel', no daily mileage and climb 'stats' summaries, no pushing on and on to keep within a self imposed timeframe. Instead you articulated a beautiful and vulnerable story of the complexities of this life, and how being in motion, on a bike, has healed you. I wish more adventure travelers would follow in your tracks, drop the ego and focus on the journey and what it brings to the mind.

BRILLIANT!! Not just for the physical effort required to cover the route, not just for the careful route planning, but for overcoming all the mental challenges - loved your philosophical musings, and will try to keep you in my mind when I traverse the Pyrenees this summer (starting in Bayonne, then to Lourdes, to Foix, to Puymorens to Perpignan). I will think of you, and will take comfort from your story telling and your excellent photos/ video production!!

Strong mind, strong core, thank you for sharing your journey with us. It sparked memories of my 3 years living in Europe where Plzen was my base, and I would go of solo cycling touring 8 weeks at a time. That was 25 years ago, and as I look down at my 60 ( next week) year old legs, I am grateful they where able to turn those cranks for 10 000 km around Europe with all the ups and down, good and not good memories, because you never know what the future holds for you. I returned home to Australia in 2000, 6 years later I got married , and just as my son was about to be born I was diagnosed with Non Hodgkin’s Lymphoma Cancer. 16 years later, with chemotherapy and a stem cell transplant, I’m still here. I didn’t think I would make it to 50 let alone 60. So treasure those memories, there the only thing you can take with you 🙏❤✌🏼😊

Good video , and a good bike packing trip ! You are right about challenging yourself, sometimes it is just too easy to go with the flow of life and not take some risks . And, what maybe even more important than the challenge of just doing ...... Is the thought process of accepting a challenge and not being afraid of failing the challenge ! If you are not willing to take risks , you may not get all the satisfaction and things out of life possible. Time is relentless, and if you do not make good use of it, when you get old , you look back on the paths you have chosen through out your life and think back on all the opportunities you had to maybe take a better path. Or if you did tske risks, maybe you will wish you had of taken more . When you get old , regret is a thing that never goes away. All the best to you , stay safe.

Thanks for this video. I did my two big cycle adventures in North America in 1980 and 1986. A lot of your feelings about thr ride and its challenges I can still relate to. Love the fact that a lot of your video was made up of still pictures. All my trip back then was recorded on colour slides so no videos or movies of it. And yes a few times I had no option but to take a train bus or other transport mostly due to time limitations, but occassionaly to avoid a tunnel as you had to.

What a beautiful journey! Your story brings back memories of a solo bike ride I took from Montana to Alaska. It was life changing, one of the most challenging and most precious times in my life. I relate to so many of the feelings you expressed here. I'm moved by your adventurous spirit. Thank you. A lot of people avoid challenges. But if it's too easy is it much of an accomplishment? It's the hardships in life that make us grow. Conquering something we've never done before leaves us with the most meaningful memories. So many people devote their entire lives to pursuing wealth, comfort and possessions and never take the time to actually live. Keep living life and telling your stories. The world needs the inspiration.

Čeká nás podobná cesta letos, jen opačným směrem z Brna do Barcelony. Bohužel to musíme zvládnout za půlku času, tak to nebude takový Zen jako tvoje cesta. Každopádně díky za video, úplně mne naladilo a nemůžu se dočkat až vyrazíme.
