Hi! Nice to virtually meet you! I’m glad you’re enjoying my content. It’s definitely livable but it takes being cautious as far as the wild animals go. The cell towers are a different story but at least there’s an end in sight for that problem.

Hi. Yes! We do have snakes but I've only seen 2 in all the years I've lived here. As far as lizards go, I've only seen the average lizard about the size of my hand or smaller.

I had wondered about the wild animals. I wouldn't want to have to worry about wild animals. I love the Ridges, but I can't see myself living there due to the wild animals and scorpions. What about Southern Highlands, as it relates to wild animals, scorpion infestation or other concerns? Thank you for your honesty.

The wild animals are definitely present throughout all communities that are mountainside, including Southern Highlands. Although they are ever present, I don’t feel that they’re any danger to you. It simply is something that you should be aware of. With proper pest control you can reduce or rid your yard of the scorpions. I’m allergic to scorpions so I notified and have my pest control company spray extra heavy. It’s all controllable. If you are thinking about relocating to Vegas and this is something that is bothering you and you’d like to discuss further, please feel free to call me anytime. PS… I’m a niners fan too ☺️

Hi @joegideon8461 Although there are plans for a resolution, it will take some time for it to be rolled out and to my knowledge it hasn’t yet.

Hi @othniel7774! Thank you for your kind feedback. MacDonald Highlands has spots of poor service but for the most part has good coverage. Since making this video The Ridges has been in the works of getting their very own cell towers which will alleviate these problems and are very close to having them completed! As you can imagine, this is good news for all current and future residents! Are you a local or thinking about moving to the Las Vegas area?

No matter where you hike you’re hiking in wild animal territory. I believe as long as you’re aware of your surroundings and know how to protect yourself it’s all good. When I was chased it was at 5am and still dark outside. Probably not the best idea for me to be out there at that hour.

I think in vegas in general you’ll see coyotes or even mountain lions roaming around the city at times. It is a city in the middle of the desert. At the end, animals own this world, we just live in it.

I live in The Ridges and we do have break ins but nowhere near every night. I’d say a few times a year is more accurate. You can check crime reports for different areas of town here opendata-lvmpd.hub.arcgis.com And remember… I say it all the time, guard gates and gates don’t make the community immune to crime.

Hi Jim! Hope you are doing well. I just wanted to update you on The Ridges and the "lack" of security. They have done many things to step up their security such as adding perimeter cameras and changing their procedures. They have really stepped up their game in security in the past year or so.
