I am a third generation San Franciscan that followed Yesterday and Today from the Old Waldorf { two drink minimum} to the Stone. There were maybe 50 people or less in the Audience back then. Always a Kick Ass show. My last Y and T show was at the Cornerstone in Berkley. I had a VIP pass and sat right above stage right. Mrs Meniketti handed me a Bottle of the Meniketti Contagious 2016 Chardonnay. Dave is a Powerhouse that should be elevated to Guitar God Status.

I just saw Y&T Saturday night in Asheville NC. I just posted three songs I filmed and I also bought the DVD on with the show documentary about Y&T it's got to be one of the best rock documentaries I've ever seen. It's a two disc set almost 5 hours long.

Great video, didnt want it too end. Halloween night in 80's with Motley Crue opening, then Randy Hanson and Y&T headlining. They just rocked! Absolute stellar performance I'll never forget. And ragweed joints were a buck!

Just watched on with the show documentary and brought me here. That lead rips for rescue me, I remember seeing them at the orange pavilion in San Bernardino back in the 80s Dave Meniketti is one of those monster players and he can sing with the best of them! Thanks

Awesome Nick. I’ve been a huge Y&T fan since my mate played Earthshaker to me. Meniketti is a great player and singer. Always great live. Thanks for this, will steal some of these riffs.

I had that cassette too! I was (and still am) a die hard Y&T fan... The only sticker on my truck is Y&T. Dave's songwriting and riffs still hold up as some of the best, dig his gritty yet melodic lead playing too. My wife and I saw them 3 times in the last few years in KC and got to meet him after one show and shake his hand. Thanks for posting this!! \m/

Brilliant lesson Nick - always loved Y&T and Dave Meniketti's lead playing, cool riffs and a wonderful tone (Dave and John Sykes have the best Les Paul Hard Rock tones) . BTW love your and Jay Palmer's "Exotic Lead Power pack" ...Aces !!.... awesome beyond belief - Thank you.

Fantastic video. It’s so good to see Y&T music broken down in this way, so we can really appreciate the creativity of a highly underrated band. How the hell Dave Meniketti does not get into the top 100 greatest guitarists is beyond me! Keep rockin 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻

Thank you! I agree, Meniketti and Y&T are criminally underrated.

It would be super cool if you would do a lesson/breakdown of "I'll cry for you" from the album Contagious.. One of Dave's most prolific instrumentals.

Great idea! I've been wanting to do some lead guitar oriented Meniketti stuff, so this would work nicely. I'll see what I can do :-)

That's not fair, you've been playing these songs for years. No wonder your I'll cry for you, sounded as good as Dave Meniketti himself. Just messing with you, your a good guitarist. Great song pick. Peace.
