Nononono! Bobby Hatfield’s death was ruled by the corner as heart trouble. The exact Terminology I’m not sure of. But Bobby Hatfield’s death was some what caused by a small amount of cocaine. Bill had no idea Bobby even took that stuff! Bobby died with “the clicker in his hand on the bed”. Please read Bill Medley’s book, “the time of my life”! He recounts the whole thing.

I saw a video of their induction in to the RnR hall of fame in 2003. They sang "Lovin' Feelin." Some are critical of the changes in their voices. Here, they are 63 yrs old, but though they sound a little different, it was beautiful. Bobby looked good, as did Bill. Bobby was gone 8 months later. Miss him, but I'm glad that Bill is still singing. Without Bobby's uniquely beautiful voice, the Brothers are a memory, kept alive by the magic of their music. Love you both.

@@dawnaberry8452 oh, just ignore ridiculous people. They have nothing better to do than to go around and correct pettiness. The description claims this was filmed in 94...and while their ages reflect that, the decor and people in the audience don’t. 🤔 But then they mention 20yrs have passed which world in fact put them in the 90’s...so I’m way confused! I think Bobby’s recording of Unchained Melody is the best when he was 25 on Andy Williams show- that could easily be the best recording of a song in all of our history. It just absolutely touches your soul and makes both men and women melt. It was like God Himself was singing right through him that night. I could watch/listen to that show hundreds of more times, and it still give me goose bumps. I love to watch the reaction videos too of people who hadn’t heard it before- they’re all the same; in utter amazement. The women crack me up- all fanning themselves. 😂 ✌️

“The Righteous Brothers” are considered by most to be the Greatest Male Vocal Duet Of All Time. I agree. Between Bill Medley’s Lows and Bobby Hatfield’s Highs they can hit every note on an 73 key piano. No other male singers can do that. Legendary. “You’ve Lost That Lovin’ Feelin’’ was the most played song on radio in the 20th Century "Unchained Melody" - Bobby Hatfield Live 1965 Andy Williams Show . Considered by most as The Greatest Live Male Vocal Performance In History... I agree. Bobby’s use of “Runs” is masterful. He created the style and set the table that all others have fed off of for decades. 7 notes just to say the word “I” is melodic brilliance. Their name came from doing a show near a marine base in So Calif and a black marine said to them…. You two guys are Righteous Brothers. In 1983, in Newport Beach O.C. Calif. Bill and Bobby at the Jolly Roger Restaurant . I was 13 feet away for... "Unchained Melody"- "You've Lost That Lovin Feeling" - "Soul And Inspiration".... They were perfect, awesome, amazing, incredible......

My favorite music of my favorite group The Righteous Brothers is from their beginning in 1962 of some blues, rhythm 'n' blues, and rock 'n' roll. There are many of these songs recorded in "The Moonglow Years", which is available on KZbin. They performed many of them on the great Shindig television show, which is available on KZbin. And they performed some of them in their concerts up until 2003, when they were finally inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and then Bobby Hatfield left his life later that year. 🎶✨

Welcome to the wonderful world of what is known as blue-eyed soul. It is truly timeless music, and The Righteous Brothers were the absolute best. The story about how the group was named (according to my recollection, anyway) was they were playing somewhere in the South, and a black serviceman stood up during one of their performances and yelled out, "That's righteous, brother!" Bobby Hatfield did "Unchained Melody" in 1965 in one in only one take and nailed it completely. Nothing in the way of voice enhancers or whatever else is used nowadays. Pure, raw talent. You need to do a video reacting to both of them singing "You've Lost That Loving Feeling." He and Bill Medley (the other half of the "brothers" part) also performed on at least one episode of a music talent show in the 1960s called, "Shindig!" That one will definitely blow your mind!

In an interview with Bill Medley, he said that a group of black Marines from El Toro Marine Base(Orange Country, Calif.) had heard there were these two white guys singing R&B in L.A. area, so they went to the club to hear them sing... After one of their songs one of the Marines stood up and said, "that's Righteous, brothers!" Which of course, meant really cool.. great! And having still never really settled on a group name that they liked up to that point, Bill & Bobby thought..'Alright, that's what we'll call ourselves, "The Righteous Brothers"!' And the rest is Legendary Music History❣️🥰😍🤩

@@robinmcintyre3472 In the Andy Williams show in 1965 during their introduction/interview with Andy, Andy asked them how they got their name and Bobby said they were down South performing in a club when someone stood up and said “ that is righteous brother” and that is how they got their name.

Ahhh...such a great show! So good to especially see Hal Ratliff, pianist, being introduced....such a very gifted artist in his own right! 45:40 I can vouch to say that he has had a very personal impact on me and members of my family.

Down below "Bobby was so cute!" Agreed. And, Bill Medley was, and still is, what we teen girls called "a handsome hunk." We female baby boomers may be not be young, single & childless anymore, but we can still appreciate attractive men. Since these 2 were both born in 1940, that means they are in their mid-forties here - still looking & sounding GREAT! Best Wishes all.

Love their humour and repartee. As a teenager I would have called Bobby a 'heart throb' - he just exudes charm to accompany his magical vocals.

@@jessiem276 - Good AM. Yes, Bobby was very good looking. It's just a matter of personal taste to choose a favorite. I got to meet Bill M. after a concert; he was 79, his hair is grey, but his eyes still sparkle as does his personality. Best Wishes.

@@dawnaberry8452 - Good morning. It sounds like my age calculations were off. When I saw Bill Medley, w/ new partner Bucky Heard a couple of years ago, he announced he had just celebrated his 79th year. His hair was grey, but his voice sounded great. After all these decades he, clearly, loves to perform. Since he's got a net worth in the tens of millions, he doesn't have to do so to pay the rent. I became a super fan when I read his autobiography; he's a great father who stepped up to provide for his ex-wife's son as well as his own son & daughter, after her murder. Meeting him after the show was a thrill. Anyway, Best Wishes to you.

Oh yes! I discovered it about 3 months ago, and I couldn't believe that any song he did could be as beautiful as "Unchained Melody. But this one runs a very close second.

I first heard the Righteous Brother's sing in 1966, while I was living in Miami, Florida. Their songs were very much a part of the nightlife of that city back then.

He could act, too. He had a small part in a tv movie with Lee Majors. The movie wasn't very good, but Bobby was. The movie is called The Ballad of Andy Crocker, on Amazon Prime. Bobby was one of those people blessed with the ability to excel at whatever they chose. Miss him lots.
