Still amazes me that he was only caught by chance. Had that officer not returned to the location where he was arrested then I dread to think how much longer he would’ve carried on getting away with murder. He was interviewed something like 12 times and they even joked about him resembling the illustrations of the Ripper. This case will always fascinate me.

As a mental health recovery professional I've looked after and worked very closely with some extremely dangerous men who've committed some serious crimes and are all diagnosed as Schizophrenic but from my experience none of them are capable of maintaining any sort of normal everyday lifestyle so I find it difficult to believe Sutcliffe could not only continue planning and killing then escape constantly and then return not only to his wife and home life but also manage to hold down a regular full-time job which involved interaction with fellow work colleagues without arousing suspension its simply not possible for a person suffering from severe P. S nope he was nothing more then a dangerous sexual killer end of !

@@starwood213 some other police followed the brand new five pound note trail, thay narrowed down where that fiver went too, by finding out what time that fiver left the bank which led to just 2 diffrent companys pay rolls, totaling only 300 hundard workers between them who could have received that fiver. one of which was an engineering company, remember the engineering oil evidance, but the police in charge at the time didnt do this, thay insted interviewed every employee of every company that went to the bank that hole day, which gave them 6,000 employees to interview. see how thay created a monumental amount of work for themselfs. another person used an old RAF WW2 method of charting where german air bases were located by where the bombs were droped at what time of night, thay used this same method to chart where the killer most likely lived or where he was flying from just like the bombers, his prediction was the killer was based ither in shipley or manningham, look on the map to see where sutcliffes house was located... almost exacly between these two areas. yes the method used could not have bin more spot on. all this was deliberately ignored along with so much else. theres no excuse when u reseach what wasnt done by those in charge next to what was done by those at the same time who werent in charge

Definitely psychopathy not hearing voices. And people like his fan boy are just enablers for people like him and there are too many of them. But I suspect his mission from god defence was probably something that although bs could have been inspired by the tape. Which he plausibly could have thought was something that happened because god was on his side and looking out for him. Not in a mental illness way, just in that typically psychopathic way. And from there on he used it to justify to himself what he was doing and rewrite history (like narcissistic people like to do often), and create a whole defence out of it. With McDonald, notice the way he blames the victim, not himself. Anyone who watches predator sting videos will have heard the line “why was she even on there to begin with” to take responsibility off of themselves. He said pretty much the same thing about her. As for his denial of sexual motive. That’s most likely because it is the embarrassing bit for him. Not the murders. And the murders covered up what he wanted to do that embarrassed him. As mad as that sounds. The whole necro theory is a good one, that might well be a part of it and what embarrassed him. He went to great lengths to say how sick people like that were. And often denials with such condemnation for “other people” are a clue to what they’re doing themselves. What would be important to know regarding the necro thing, is whether it was something he used to bring up in conversation to people before he was caught. Eg something like talking about his work as a grave digger and randomly bringing up the subject whilst qualifying it by saying something like “people like that are disgusting”. If there is evidence of those sort of things randomly coming up in conversation I’d be more confident on that theory to the motive.

A great question. I guess it depends on the criteria. Numbers and depravity - West, for sure. If serial killing is not a requirement, Bridger/ Whiting. Vileness? Bellfield. Media coverage and lying on camera? Huntley/Stuart Hazell/Philpott. Crazy press images? Cregan/ Dennehy. Bamber also has a claim. Like I said - a great question.
