My rhyme: In my mind I think why all this terror and fear I sit in my seat to scared to speak my thoughts controlled with fear So I think and I think and think some more and draw on conclusion just one no more; Why are we being taught all this extremism and damaging ideologies from the left And this is why I wrote these lines: everything we are built upon has been lies this is why I just want to sit down and jest As there are to many damaging thoughts trying to infiltrate my young head. I sit in my seat and silence my growing thinking mind (with fear and dread)

The Hunter Biden thing, where every major news organization refused to cover this story with major implications, even middle of the row places like Forbes, when stories about Trump children were front page regardless of their veracity, was really eye opening to me. The absolute solidarity among all of these news groups really blew my optimistic, trusting, "it can't really be that bad," mentality out of it's orbit.

Doesn't really work does it. Having Ben Shapiro preach the truth about news media. Wasn't it Ben who sided with Laura Ingraham Sean Hannity and Tucker Carlson as the keepers of the truth and the "stolen Trump election"? Now that it has been entered in as evidence in the Dominion lawsuit that all 3 of them admitted they new the stolen election story was a lie but they CHOSE to peddle it like the truth because ratings went through the roof when they did. Now that Ben's heroes from Fox News have been found criminally guilty of misleading their gullible audience for cash and the court have ordered Fox news to pay almost 2 billion to Dominion I think this would be a perfect time for Ben to enjoy a hot cup of shut the fuck up.

I'm not sure you can gloss over google sucking all the money out of journalism. And it's realistic that social media created pressures on journalists to speed up their process and live in a filter bubble. So while you can argue over gatekeeping and the false notion of objectivity, a decent amount of news being messed up is basic ineptitude and sometimes cutting down the editorial process. With the Covington kids, all you needed as an editor to pause and say "assuming everything is factually accurate, I'm still confused. How is this news?"

We need another Cronkite!” and they’ll argue with me when I point out he was the lefty who basically flipped American opinion on the Vietnam War and my fellow right wingers will fight me on it! “He’s allowed to have his opinion!” I hope more people see this and get the point that our media has been diseased for a long time and the “trusted voices” we grew up with shouldn’t be trusted at all.

At 71, I was trained as a journalist right before Watergate. Watergate changed everything ... for the worst. I was taught to be objective as a journalist in the spirit of Edward R. Morrow, Walter Cronkite and others who left their biases at home when they went to work. It was Woodward & Bernstein who showed how journalists could bring down a President. That changed J-Schools and journalists from the mid-1970s to the present day. My lead J-school prof, a 20-year editor for a Kansas City daily, would have had the hide of any student who tried to pull a Woodstock stunt. Ben, a great study of journalism in America. Ned in Nevada

This was a very eye-opening take on journalism. I didn't know the history of journalism and it is fascinating. What I have taken away from all this, is that it's ok to be biased as long as your honest about it. I used to have a lot of respect for Peter Jennings and still like him, but I became wary of media while I was in the Marines. I kept hearing things that just weren't true and didn't understand how they (the Media) could get things so wrong. Now I know, bias.

The history Shapiro gives on the rise of a priest class of so called objectiveness hiding behind professionalism is visibly accurate. It led to this notion where one can ignore anything beyond superficial facts, or none at all, and then strike a pose as righteous. It’s a pure religious play out of the inquisition, loaded w self righteous arrogance from the very worst of us, and here you come for a demonstration.

Journalism is a fantastic example of how, throughout history, the more things change, the more they stay the same...

Absolutely GREAT! I really think this video should be presented to students, by teachers who help them disect, discuss, and understand what they aren't able to discern immediately. Then teachers should assign individual projects based on this information instead of using valuable time studying racism and/or equity.

I hated history throughout school, but I wish I had paid attention more. I'm glad we have ppl at the Daily Wire who aren't afraid to tell the truth!!!! That's why I am a proud owner of a "Leftist Tears" mug!

So in short, the media was never fully clean and what we are experiencing now is essentially a xerox of a xerox of xerox.

"Heard about this stuff back in middle school". Ben really doesn't appreciate the state of education in the US. I am teaching an online college course to high school students and they hadn't heard of prohibition.

This was very fascinating and very informative. I used to think objective journalism was something that was in high standard in honorable in the old days when it comes to find out it's all been biased trash. I think there should be a balance and have people who are bias to present their case but they shouldn't pretend to be objective.

Excellent concise history of this profession, which, in so many cases, has lost its way

I had some journalism classes in high school and college and to their credit, they did talk about bias in the media. One professor said that every newspaper, no matter what, is biased. Even if they try not to be, the bias can be in the stories they select and what gets picked for the front page. Of course, I grew up in the 70's, so sanity was much more common then.
