Boozer and Williams were a nice second run for us Jazz fans, after we lost the best power forward and point guard to ever play in Malone and Stockton. We felt that Boozer and Williams could get us over the hump to a title. And to be honest, they may have, if Boozer had remained here and Williams didn’t have a blowout with coach... We had a bunch of unmemorable years after. And then we groomed Gordon Hayward tolead us to the future and as soon as we built him into a star he bailed. So fast forward to now. I a, more excited and enjoying Jazz games more than I have since Malone and Stockton title run! The young group we have in Mitchell, Gobert, Ingles, Crowlder and even our veteran Favors, we are a top caliber team again! Mix in our deep bench (besides point guard) and we have the potential to be waded to the title in the next 2-3 years! Jazz fans consider this our third modern era rise from the ashes! Mix in our days with Pistol Pete, Darrell Griffith, Coach Layden and we have a pretty great history! The only thing missing here is a title! We will get there. And I believe sooner rather than later. 👍

Soft. Money hungry. I am a Jazz fans there is the time he said he couldn’t suit up in the biggest game of the season. Utah lost and slipped from 3rd in the West to fifth. There was the time he proclaimed himself fully healthy and ready to go, at the end of season locker room cleanout. When he played, he was great. But he was soft. He sat out due to a paper cut once. A paper cut. Come on. I’m a damn chef and I nearly severed my thumb on a meat slicer. I didn’t go home and pout like Boozer would. I bandaged my self up and proceeded to work with my thumb in throbbing pain. He was lazy. That’s why he is viewed that way

With Boozer he was a very talented offensive player, true scoring 4 but was inflated by being in the Sloan system that Malone thrived in. I’m a Bulls fan and wished we never signed him TBH he needed to be hidden defensively, and Thibs wasn’t very creative offensively and Boozer would struggle with teams with length vs when he was with Utah and got more open looks. If he would have stayed in Cleveland tho with Bron he may have had a title or two he was a double double, idk why cavs let him go

I really like boozer’s low post fadeaway, thats his best low post move. Even taller players Couldn’t block it. What destroyed boozer’s career is his defense, even without a three point shot he could’ve survived until today if he can play decent defense. His best years was with the jazz because of the system that jerry sloan run. He thrive in the pick n roll of jerry sloan bcos deron williams is great at running it and he is also a scoring threat, that helped boozer racked up his points.

I don't think it has anything to do with how the league evolved ... Even if Carlos would not play the game as it is played now, he still would be a very valuable asset to any team ... It just seems to be the case of getting older, not every player is Karl Malone to be able to play at high level at 40 years old ... Carlos just seems to get slower and soft due to not being as strong as before. Also, while he went pretty fast from the league. . I think he got a respectable career and he actually accomplished more than guys like T-Mac, Yao or even Derom Williams when he left Utah.

It would actually be a violation of the Collective Bargaining agreement for the Cavs to discuss a deal with Boozer while he is still under contract. If they had a verbal agreement with him before choosing to decline the option for the final year of his deal, they were in violation and the NBA may have ended up voiding the contract anyway if that fact came to light. Either they had no verbal agreement in place, or they did have a verbal agreement in place and it was a violation of the CBA.
@flibbidyx26 жыл бұрын
Boozer wore out his welcome in Utah. He was a very good offensive player and rebounder, but his defense was weak, which caused problems in the playoffs. After 2 consecutive all-star seasons, his 2008-09 season was plagued by injury. While he was out, Paul Millsap was starting in his place and racking up double-doubles. Boozer stated in a radio interview that he intended to opt out of the final year of his deal because he wanted a raise, which was a dumb thing to say when you're injured and the guy who normally backs you up is playing really well in your place. The Jazz even went on a huge win streak while he was out, but then faltered when he came back, due to problems with team chemistry caused by his interview comments. The Jazz lost to the Lakers in the first round, with Pau Gasol outplaying Boozer badly. Then, with the economy struggling and teams hording cap space for 2010, Boozer chose instead to opt into the final year of his deal. His last season with the team was a bit of a lame duck season. He certainly played well at times, but it was clear the team was ready to move on. Millsap had a couple of memorable first round games against the Nuggets, and then Boozer was again badly outplayed by Gasol in the 2nd round. Boozer signed with Chicago, and while he was solid, he was never the same all-star player again, and he struggled to stay healthy as well. Basically, his career went downhill because of poor defense, injury problems and questions about his attitude/motivation.

I remember being super impressed by Boozer in that Houston series. On the other hand, I think all the naysayers were proven correct when it came time to go up against the Kobe/Fisher/Gasol/Bynum/Odom Lakers. I thought the true strength of that Laker team was that they had the best collection of big-man talent, and it was clear that Boozer was going to struggle in the post against mobile, big defenders. Also, Boozer had the worst stone hands for a guy of his talent level. I never seen an All-Star low post man fumble so many passes. So, as a Bulls fan, I was pretty aghat when they signed him. I knew he wasn't going to put the team over the top, and the Bulls were just looking to spend their cap money. Still, dude had a good career, and for all the talk that he's not part of the modern game, I blame the ineffectiveness of these big guys in today's game a lot on coaching.

Sad part about loozer Boozer is he started Duke known for his defense. The problem with tweeners is always can they play defense at either spot and Boozer was too small to guard 4, too slow for 3, and was bad interior rim protector because he was undersized. IMO he did great for a second round pick. Olympics and two All star seasons.The only guys better as 2nd round picks are Mark Price, Marc Gasol, Rodman, Ginobli, Draymond, and Arenas, that 6 NBA players.

Just off the top....I think at first Boozer was underrated , he worked hard , played with LeBron and Ilgauskas and suddenly became a starter level prospect teams sought highly after that. He got paid big , then heralded until he was overhyped , and overpaid for someone not that great on defense. It's funny to see someone start out as underrated and end overhyped. I think his ideal role would of been as a high scoring 1st big off the bench ....6th man...Where his lack of defense and size could of been downplayed and hidden a bit.

This is not new to aging players. Nate Archibald once said that he can still shoot but couldn't play d anymore- during his early retirement days. It is so unfortunate that the desease came to boozer to early.

DANG. I know Carlos Boozer is good but I didnt know he was THAT good, y'know I mean? I always thought that Boozer is only good because of Deron Williams, well its sad to think that both of them are out of the league. .

Boozer's game was tailor made for today's NBA. This assessment is way off. INJURIES lead to him retiring. The "dinosaur big man" narrative is getting old. It certainly doesn't apply to Boozer. And it doesn't apply to Jermaine Oneal either.

Testos Tyrone What injuries? Are you joking? He was very durable in the last 4 seasons of his career.

Live in the same state and city carlos boozer lives juneau alaska in the summers he comes back to alaska and starts a basketball he charges alot of money for just a camp like literally why would you charge alot of money for a camp kids just wanna have fun and play basketball they don't have plans and dreams to make it big you shouldnt charge that much money for a camp so you could expect them to be in the nba

Loyalty!!!!!....the NBA is about money... Plain and simple...it's not about the game it's about entertainment..when the teams are done with you they dump you without second thoughts .. any player must look out for their interest first...sad position that this league has taken but it is what it is

this dude knew how to play the game

If Boozer hadn't been chasing the $$$ or if he at least given the Cavs a chance to up their offer, Booze and Lebron may have won a title or two. Or least made more than one NBA Finals appearance.
