I like how Fazbear Entertainment is mass producing the infamous killer who is at least partially responsible for nearly everything that ever went wrong in the history of their franchise, and they also gave him funny costumes and are possibly using real corpses. Actually according to some of the emails, Springtrap is not a part of the delivery system. He just was wandering around, presumably after the FNaF 3 fire, and saw a bunch of weird costumed versions of the animatronics he helped build delivering pizza and decided 'fuck it why not' and joined them. I dunno how the costumes are meant to be explained with that, but it's funniest to think that he just decided to dress up like that himself to match.

Aside from handling the monetization poorly, it sounds to me like the biggest problem with this game was that it was far too ambitious for the technology we currently have available. Give it a few years, maybe a decade, and phones might actually be able to handle a game like this properly, but this was way too big for what we have now. That's kind of a shame.

Just for clarification: In the most recent update, pretty much everything: photo booth, lures and dark circus are around 150-700 faz coins. (the most expensive being certain lures like plush traap.) You get like 1500-2500 faz coins every now and again from the 4 hour gifts that are permanent now so you can easily buy everything in the game for free, the only difficulty is getting all the different plush suits and cpus. I think you can get lures of almost every skin from the shop but I haven't checked. Again the main difficulty is the odds of actually getting the skin which is low at least in my experience. My own experience with crashing (just for reference my ipad is from around 2017ish) The game does seem to crash after around 2 or 3 encounters like you mentioned but they seemed to fix it now so it never crashed during an encounter at least in my experience and the dark circus crashed during cinematics and battles. When it did crash, my streak always saved although I do remember my streak resetting pretty much whenever I loaded the game when it first came out so there's that. Overall I really like what this game was trying to do but it's a real case of vaulting ambition. I like to think of it as a spiritual successor for UCN especially with all the voice actors it takes from that game and all the characterisation we get. The emails are pretty cool way of telling us the story, although I have no idea why there weren't equivalents in Security Breach considering it has the same thing with the messages in the duffel bags. I'm still trying to experience as much of the game as I can until the servers shut down so wish me luck with Golden Freddy.

Not sure if you will see this but here’s something that could have helped the game out more. The option to use the real world or switch to an in-game world (kind of like Pokémon go). For one this would help with the lighting problem because if you’re not in a place with the right lighting you could switch to the in-game world. Plus if someone prefers in-game world over irl they can just switch to that. I personally would use both interchangeably. One for on the go and one for home.

Theres this game I played, it was called "Guns Up", and it was this military themed strategy game where you deploy different types of soldiers to destroy other players bases. Basically, it sort of declined in popularity, and they made a mobile version of Guns Up, so they decided to shut down the servers. But before that, they gave huge amounts of legendary chests to everyone, and when I say huge, I mean huge. There were so many chests that it was guaranteed you would unlock every soldier, while also having massive amounts of gold to the point where you could probably buy everyging in the game. They also shut down all their microtransactions. The point is, the devs wanted everyone to have fun and not waste their money in the final moments (few months) of the game Meanwhile FNAF AR is out here giving discounts to things you wont even be able to use in the future.

Rapping Foxy I would have absolutely loved to see actualized. Adorable bone chain like he's a dawg. I mean, he is the closest to it considering Twisted or Roxy never made it in. Also I do love the skins overall. Honestly Aeronaut Toy Freddy is probably the coolest looking Toy Freddy, though the VR Toy Freddy fits at least his UCN version more. I have the plush of VR Toy Freddy though, as well as Freddy Frostbear. And a lot of other plushes, mostly Foxy and Freddy variants but also Nightmare Bonnie. But also my three Monty plushes that I adore.

It's so fucking sad to see these projects with huge amounts of potential fail over things that would have been pretty easy to solve. This type of game had the opprotunity to introduce FNAF to a whole new group of gamers if it just took some more time to figure out what it wanted to be and how it wanted to work. For starters, charging some money for registering might have been a smart move here, just to make sure that the game would be profitable. Just couple that together with some proper planning and playtesting when introducing new characters with different mechanics, more focus towards either episodic gamepacks or a more open type game and some extra little additional content that players would have to purchase (like you said, just outfits or hats or hell, maybe even certain skins) and boom you have a genuenly fun game. I do think it was sorta doomed to fail just by being a mobile game. Fun and engaging games take a lot of energy to run on Any device, let alone a regular phone. There's a reason that most gamers playing these type of games over regular connect 3 or temple run games buy special computers of consoles made to host games.

(Originally wrote this in a community post, but wanted to put it here too) I only played Fnaf AR for a very short time before losing interest, but it's clear that they put a lot of effort into the main course of the game, before adding in only extra skins. (Also Shadow Bonnie was so freakin’ annoying-) We got a bunch of cool voices for characters that previously didn't talk, and new lines for those that already did. I personally loved the idea of Funtime Freddy and Bon Bon being a tag team, instead of having one sit back while the other does all the work, like they had in previous appearances. Overall, it wasn't a great experience, but a fun one nonetheless.

Gonna rant a bit, but I personally believe that the game has been dead since the update that added the health bar and the new map. It completely screwed over the gameplay for no good reason, considering how good the old system was, and I probably would still be playing the game today if that update didn't happen. I'm not that sad to see the go, since in my mind it was already dead, but I am sad with how all of this turned out.

I remember this game being a major influence in my choice about what new phone to get back at the time when my old one was running really poorly. Ot the LG G6 as it was looking alright and was on the list of comparing devices, but as you said your experience was, mine was the same - constant crashes and overheating REAL FAST. That got my hyped dumbass so disinterested that I only ever launched the game like 13 times, and it's a real shame because I was really interested in playing this, an the unique visual and sound design really had me right away. Might try giving it a shot for the final time before the closure and now that I'm on a more capable phone with hopes of the game actually working fine for once

I will always love how Plushtrap, despite clearly being the easiest animatronic to delivers (small, will clearly not come out of the package as long someone is there to stare at him), have....is own environment, which, while gameplay wise, IT'S AWESOME. It was so hard I remember deleting the game completely due to lack of ability to get more battery. This game was amazing especially for a free fnaf game, it just needed some more tweaking and better gameplay mechanics plus I can see there being a fnaf AR animatronic builder.

FNAF AR is a Fnaf game I will die on the hill of defending despite how scummy Illumix was with monetisation, it brought a lot of things I think such as Toy Bonnie's voice and Toy Freddy getting a personality outside of just "Lame Gamer Bear" Plus, I remember it was a constant meme in the FNAF AR community about Plushtrap constantly getting denied entry as he was teased so early in the game IIRC, at launch, Circus Baby could grunt and charge, which actually could interrupt her idle dialogue, which added to her lethality

I think the issue is that, they completely gave up and ignored the fnaf community. they left the game with no updates for 3 years after their last update, of course the game wouldn't be as get as much players because of it. Heck they even ignored it on their official website where they didn't even bother to mention it as that was the main reason what made them so successful. they even decided to work on Disney stuff and AR rings like anyone cares about AR rings. since they ignored fnaf community suddenly out of the blue, they pretty much angered every fnaf fan and hardcore fnaf fan because of it. they even promised lefty and the glamrock animatronics was going to be added.

Theory: Vanny runs Illumix and wants to steal our money by having you pay 100 dollars for 15000 Faztokens. The reason Lefty wasn’t release was because Gregory freed Vanessa from Glitchtrap (or Mimic, Burntrap, Mrs Afton, The Blob/Tangle, Circus Baby, Helpi or any other character that people believe is the main villain in modern FNAF) before Lefty was released. It would also explain the amount of Bonnie variant skins. The reason it keeps crashing is because Vanny is behind us the entire time and we just don’t notice her, just like Security Breach (Context: Vanny was in the part where we are trying to activate the elevator for Parts and Service but she usually got stuck in the escalator. She also appeared in the Shattered Chica Boss Fight but was just behind us the entire time. Even in her own boss fight in Fazer-Blast, she usually doesn’t catch up to you unless you are extremely slow. Her running animation is horrifying, though.)

For ppl possibly not sure if the DLC expansion pack was a ripoff or not: $20 is the average price for a MAINLINE NINTENDO GAME’S DLC. (Ex: all of LOZ:BOTW’s DLC is $20 combined.) Yes. Pricing seems to work differently on mobile games, but this isn’t worth it. I’d take it for $5. Max.

Fnaf AR was such a big dissapointment in my eyes. But maybe my then child brain expected too much. (I imagined because you already have to give your location you can customise your experience like making tasks pop up in rooms of your house or maybe making custom cameras out of photos on your phone but in the end you just stood in a place and pressed a button at the right moment and that was the game :p)

FNaF AR super fan here. I apologize in advance for the WALL of text ahead. 2:06 In my opinion, the 9.0.0 (balloon / map update) was the start of the downfall of the game. I think taking away the unknown factor made the game a lot less interesting. By knowing exactly what you are up against, that takes away a bit of the fun. Being around streak 8, then suddenly hearing "let's see how many times you can be pulled apart and put back together again" hits so different then just seeing Springtrap appear on a HUD and declining it. Not to mention it ruined the entire idea of the game. "... you'll never know who's coming to visit!" just untrue anymore. 4:00 the ONLY thing Remnant does is extend the shock window of animatronics. I'm not sure if it ever did anything else. No way to really know since salvaging is entirely server based. BTW this is another example of how the map update ruined a feature of the game. You SHOULD have the ability to enter remnant collection at any point since it is your environment. Having to find remnant on the map is stupid imo. What I believe remnant collection was trying to do was: bridge the gap between the book's and the game's ideas of remnant together (objects in your environment have different levels of emotional energy associated with them) The game actually uses object detection when you are in remnant collection. It sends the object type it thinks you are looking at to the server (ex: person, tv, bowl, apple, etc.). From there, it spawns some remnant based on that. What it does with that information in the server is again unknown. I just know that object types are a factor in some way since it is an argument. 6:20 thanks Unity and awful PVRTC texture compression and having literally every asset bundle loaded at once (back in the day at least) 7:50 what the hell?! That's so weird. Surprised they didn't compensate your Baby suit for that 15:50 especially when most suits in the game used this eye shader known as "glow only" which makes the eye color difference incredibly difficult to tell 18:30 I think what is super cool about Toy Bonnie is that his voice was actually the game's sound designer essentially making a cameo lol 21:45 Mangle wasn't a permanent animatronic until the 14.0.0 gameplay update. You have to get to level 45 to start encountering them. Before them you either had to lure them or get sent them from friends. 23:20 I'll never understand why that happened. So weird and messed up. No defending that. 25:00 "He's a lot like Jack O Chica" No... he just IS Jack O Chica. After looking at his CPU code, he is an EXACT duplicate of Jack O Chica, which is also almost an exact duplicate of Bonnie's "Insane" form which spawned at higher streaks (now levels). 26:55 I love bringing this up: It is actually possible to tell which form of Golden Freddy you are fighting based on the locations and animations of the "IT'S ME"s on the screen. There is no way Illumix intended anyone to find this out without looking at the code of the game. It works every time if you know it. 29:32 Another part of this issue is that Illumix had one person create the core game loop (spin around until they decloak and die). They were around for a few post launch characters (long enough for the addition of the mask), then they left. And I guess the rest of the team just weren't able to add many more features outside of part drops since this was also around the same time of COVID. Since that happened, the team were switching to a work at home situation and I guess that didn't translate as well as they had hoped. It was probably just easier to keep making skins since they had a studio that could crank out some sick ass designs (Worm Animation), optimize them for the game, and release it. No code changes required! Just some "bug fixes and optimzations" here and there and the game would stay alive... Yes, Scott had to okay each and every skin they added to the game. Worm Animation designed all of the skins. They are a studio owned by one of Illumix's employees. 33:00 The one good thing from the 9.0.0 update is that Faz Coins were much easier to get. Sometimes you could even get 60-100 from one balloon. Yes it's still random but it is easy to rack them up quickly if you play the game for a bit. Yeah the suits and cpus are expensive, but if you don't get lucky and get them from a lure, you could always have someone send them to you over and over to get them for free. The only thing you had to pay for was the DLC. Other stuff like icons and 3D icons were purely cosmetic. This was honestly imho one most generous live service mobile games. Hence, they're shutting it down lol. That's my hot take. (ok I typed this out before fully watching this part of the video and we seem to agree on the same thing lol) **I would have bought the Christmas hat for my Freddy Fazbear animatronic** I bought all of the 3D and 2D icons 41:30 They tried to raise up the price to $20 after the launch of the DLC. They tried calling the initial launch price of $13 "fan pricing" after the fact. This failed after community back lash and they silently kept the price down at $13 until recently. Still a good chunk of cash but at least it's better that $20 Great video!! I really enjoyed watching and commenting along.

All... peculiar, but nothing too severe. Though in early releases of SB, apparently his name wasn't in the credits and was added in during a fix. It's a different situation to what happened with Michella, but I found it kinda weird. Cameron himself just sort of laughed it off- he was talking about it in an interview. Surely the stuff with the lockdown is what made it so odd.

This is why i like Forsaken AR. 1: they added more animatronics (such as: Funtime Foxy, Lefty, Springbonnie, 8Bit Purple guy, 8bit Ballora, Molten Freddy, Scrap Baby, and like 30 more) 2: Coins are much easier to get.(Unfortunately, they removed the 10=ad, but coins are still easy to get) 3: Servers are still up. 4: Finally its available to not only Andriod but now IOS 5: its updated constantly and is just an overall better "Mod" for FNaF AR (P.s. sorry if it sounded like an ad just pointing out the better parts)

Something that makes the monitization even worse, is that there's no real value to spending money in FNAF AR because the gameplay aspect is cutout.
