Your vlogs are so thoughtful as well as thought provoking and you provide a great deal of insight on a variety of subject matter. I currently work for Crime Victim Services in Canada and my office is right next door to Drug Treatment Court. When you spoke of some Hermes customers trying to chase that feeling they experienced the very first time they purchased a bag, it is very similar to drug addiction whereby someone is continuously chasing that high. The release of endorphins, a racing heart, nervous energy etc are very real in both scenarios so thank you for recognizing that this too can happen with luxury designer purchases. You are extremely bright G! You are destined to become an excellent psychologist one day and others will benefit greatly from your counsel!👨🏻‍🎓

It’s so true that Hermes will not bring happiness. So many of the new clients think these bags suddenly bring them status and happiness but that will be short lived because the reality is what’s in the bank and how much debt they got into trying to get the bag. I saw some KZbinr spending upward of 50k for a birkin. No bag is worth that level of effort esp prespend.

What type of products do they make, what bags are for men, what are some nice products in various price ranges, etc., etc..I have a bunch of their bow ties, pocket squares and some 70x70 silks and I use their bath and fragrance series for men, but I would like to expand my knowledge and be inspired, perhaps..

Silver vs. gold quandary: There is a ring I like at Hermes, but it only comes in gold or silver, but not white gold. I'm a silver-toned fan; what do you suggest in this case? (It's the small CDC ring... I'm a huge CDC fan.)

As I mentioned in my post here: I wear my silver ring and bracelet from Hermes everyday and it was the best decision. Not tarnishing whatsoever ☺️ I think you should go for the ring that fits you the best, no matter what material it is made of 🤍

I think the croc shoes and sandals price is insane. I saw a Himalayan Chypre May 2023 in Paris George canq boutique it was €5100 now they are something like $6300 I know they cost more in the US but this is not just the price difference. The Ella sandal 105 in croc was $3400 last year and I got it thank god, now is $4130 even for the lizard.

A year or two ago, I was invited to order a custom pair of sneakers in exotic. I requested a quote for my favorite Avantage sneakers in Himalaya which at the time would have been over €11k..needles to say that I didn't order them 😅

I think nobody ever thought the day would come when Hermes felt like Europe’s Ralph Lauren, but we also never know that we’d have an entire industry of tech that’s made so many millionaires and billionaires that now wear it as their base wardrobe. It feels weird that while prices for brands like Chanel and Hermes keep going up the product offering remains quite the same and thus everybody’s buying the same things. People don’t go to the brand for newness but its classism is starting to get stale by the sheer number of people who can now afford it.

Social media hasn’t ruined luxury fashion. It’s only ruined it for the people who can’t afford it because it was made accessible. The people who can’t afford it have minimised the whole concept of it because they think it’s “unrealistic”. Which it is - for people that can’t afford it or fully understand it.

Oh, but IMO, social media HAS ruined the pleasure of being a long time Hermès customer. The company's customer base has drastically changed. H has gone from being a true "If you know you KNOW" brand to a pop culture, aspirational brand. Whether real or fake, H bags are EVERYWHERE. H's previous customer base was not the type to resell bags, look at them as some sort of "investment", rant and cry in public about not being offered a bag, be manipulated by an SA or beg for one, or go into debt to buy one. This was unheard of. After almost 40 years as a customer, I have just lost interest in buying any more H products. I realize that I am no longer a part of Hermès demographics. I NEVER wanted wealth signaler bags-just beautiful, low key, well made ones. For me, this also happened with Chanel a number of years ago. I cannot BELIEVE how tacky C has become. Awful. Just AWFUL.

Thanks for the video, I just want to share my experience with Hermès Silver: I bought the Chaine d’ancre ring and the cdc bracelet in silver and I wear them everyday. They fit perfectly with my white gold Rolex datejust, better than the rose gold ones.. I normally wear only yellow gold but in this case I am glad that I made this decision. I have no issues with tarnishing whatsoever and they look as beautiful as on the day I bought them .. 🤍
