I remember playing mope io from to 2019-2020 all the time in online classes; I played it 8 hours every day; I really enjoyed this game, but after the updates over time it got increasingly worse, so I left it. I still remember the good days and wish them to return.

I remember playing mope in 2020. Even though I didn't experience the "golden days" such as 2016-2019 I had A LOT of fun playing that game during that time. Made a lot of friends that really made my day a bit happier But now the fun I used to have is kinda gone and the servers are more laggy and unenjoyable. I'll still be making videos of the game but due to lack of content and lack of entertainment, its probably gonna be a while lol Good video.

I discovered this game in 2019 and when I say it PULLED me through the pandemic I mean it, this game brings me so much ‘nostalgia’ and I know you’re probably like what do you mean nostalgia? this was like four years ago, but this is one of the only things that I like remember from the pandemic other than playing Roblox and not being able to go out, but yeah, I formed many friendships, unfortunately all lost to time now, but it’s really sad the path this game went down.

There was nothing that KOA could do. Multiplayer servers are very expensive. Nothing lasts forever, right? Mope is no exception. It is a very nostalgic game as I have known it since 2017. But, it is sad to see its downfall. Truly a great game while it lasted.

yup, couldn't agree more. this game used to thrive in its simple yet addicting pvp design compared to other .io games. the fact that what we used to have in the form of Dragon PVP, people coming together under the same clan tag, KZbinrs like iStealth, iGoliath, Fortish, Nation, trolling with different animals like Pufferfish, Donkey etc is now gone is just saddening. wish everyone wasnt so greedy in terms of making the biggest profit but awe thats how it is

man. crazy to think its already been over 7 years, i started playing this game before oceans were added (mid november 2016), and have actively played it nearly every day until late 2017, after that id play it occasionally to see how the game is doing. i have so many good memories of mope and its really sad to see what it has become, id do a lot to be able to play early 2017 mope again but i guess everything ends eventually.. at least we still have youtube videos.

Coming back to this, Mope has added actual pay2win features, such as XP boost, HP regen and Zoom increase potions which can be bought with mopecoins. They are still milking this game until death.

mope had a big part in my early teenage years, I remember playing the game around 2018-19 the game was simple but fun and id spent hours playing it fast forward to 2022, the game just got laggy, glitchy, things were just too detailed to like. I really liked the simple style that mope had. :(

You dont need good graphics to make good game and honestly this is one of the greatest video gamess ever made. It's concept is so simple and dynamic and fun with a skill cieling at the same time. With it's prime back in 2019-2020. I remember being addicted to this game and playing it like 7 hrs a day... The golden age updates started it's downfall tbh for me andn for all the players.

I totally agree with everything you said. I first played mope in June 2018 and then stopped and then came back a little bit in April 2019 to June 2019 and then stopped again for a few months and then came back in October 2019 when I killed a land monster with the donkey and then took one more break and finally came back in February 2020 and then I pretty much played it every single day for like 2 years but now its just terrible I still sometimes check up on mope just to see how the game is but its just not fun anymore.

First of all, this video is amazing because it brought back nostalgia from the good old days and shines a light on the history of a game which once has more than 14,000 players and now it's almost abandoned. So let's get that thing clear, the video you made in 5 minutes is superb. Now here's my personal story with mope io. I first played the game in 2017/2018 and it was truly brilliant. I still remember the Golden Age of Mope in December 2019 and my Czech friend and I played nonstop on weekends together because we really loved the game back then. Even during the COVID Pandemic and into 2021, it was alright for me. I stopped playing around late 2021 due to some school issue, and today (2023) in general, I finally returned to mope after 2 years and started playing a bit. I have to say.. disappoint doesn't even describe it. They removed the London 1 and 2 Servers in which I play everyday to see my friends and now it's wiped out of the system. The game truly went to dogs and it is still going down in terms of popularity and players. Unless the developers bring the old mope back.. the game is doomed and will never the rise again.

I remember i played this game from 2020 to early 2022 with my friend, it was extremely fun to play and it was my favorite game at the time. However later we stopped playing in like 2022 and we returned back in 2023 and the game was extremely realistic, i didnt like the designs plus i really missed koa's streams. It was really fun though. I also remember i got pakistan toucan. Now the game is only animals being realistic and bad updates.. Dang i really miss this game.

5:32 , one of the artists here. the cause of some of the skins being underdetailed/overdetailed was cuz the team was extremly unorganised, please understand that we were pressured by copyright. there will be few re-reskins of animals that we think are too detailed/ look too off for the game, and other than that, we will focus on future content updates. simply put; stop crying about reskins, they were a neccesity, unlike in mope

I agree with others on how people eventually grew up and how getting certain animals was just not as fun anymore. However, I would say the main downfall of the game was the failure to properly monetize the game. The game only really source of monetization at the time was have the players watch an ad every time they died, but people were using ad blockers and most people were good enough to know not to die. Eventually the devs did add skins as a form of monetization, but I it was very ineffective as remember the target audience for this game were mostly kids and teens. Also, people weren’t happy either. It’s sad to see, but there really wasn’t a way to get out of the mess being an io game. The community for this game was pretty decent with KZbinrs and artists, but without any proper good updates, the game kinda just flopped.

All good things come to an end. And talking about art style, I don't think employing 16 years olds or teens is a good idea. You would want someone with experience for a good game, even just for the art. Plus KOA was too busy with family, etc I don't even remember. In conclusion I would say things were not organized in order for great success.
