My OPINION: Okay this wasn’t a mistake at all. After watching the videos and trying it out myself, I can confirm that NO EDITING SOFTWARE can NEVER make a character that light this was pretty intentional, and SenpaiBae needs to own up to her actions and act like her age Like come on- Even a 10 year old could see that that it not a editing software. People who use capcut can tell u right now that the app doesn’t do that. That Apology was Sh*itty for the amount of people she had hurt The skin color was white. The worst part is that I found out about this earlier today from a community post by the KZbinr “Crow”. (Recommend Channel) She deleted all the videos that included the drama. The old apology,the new apology,many community posts, etc. She replaced it with a communtiy post that said she’s taking a mental health break and coming back when she is more mature. She said she’s quitting. Edit: The newest video you can watch from her is a meme/trend from 3 weeks ago. I am glad I didn’t see her cuts. I would have probably been traumatized since I don’t know how bad they were.

My opinion on senpaibae: I have watched senpaibae since she had 12k and i loved her, her oc, her editing style and she was amazing at the time. I even made an oc inspired by her. Ever since i found out she whitewashed encanto characters, i was surprised af, she seemed like such a sweet kind girl and then poof!! It didnt even feel like the same person anymore. She tried to lie about capcut, but if it was capcut wouldn't capcut be exposed and changed by now? There is so many users using capcut. Then she showed her freaking SCARS on the internet? WTF. That was unnecessary LITERALLY WHO puts there scars on the internet, does she not know what people there are? And then at the end she just decides to quit. I don’t hate her, but I never really liked her videos. They were five seconds long and not many of them had a lot of effort put into them. She was getting hundreds of thousands of subscribers while other underrated KZbinrs don’t get noticed. I'm not in the gacha community but hearing that the creator is filipino hurts but also sadly makes sense (coming from another filipino). Colorism is really prevalent in our country where so many people are whitening their skin to look western and reach the beauty standards here. I have seen some of my teachers and native filipinos getting made fun of for having morena/tan and dark skin. From what I've seen Filipinos with african features get so much hate. Them whitewashing encanto characters makes me mad because a lot of us really love the movie even more than the actual southeast asian film disney has made. This might not be the real reason why sennpaibae is not apologizing for the whitewashing but knowing where she comes from it makes more sense to me.

I never really liked senpaibae. I saw her all over my recommended, and watched her videos being curious. It only took a few videos to realize that she was never very good. Her videos obviously took little to no effort, maybe some drawn on effects. That was why she was able to post so many times a day. Her personality was just as fake. There was a time in which she had a "flying pig" outro, and she removed it, because "people were paying too much attention to it instead of the video". She said that in a pinned comment. She also mentioned how she "spent hours" creating those videos, and people only cared about the outro. This shows she is an attention grabber, by all standards. She made various videos saying "thank you" to her fans, but it was obvious none of them were genuine. Senpaibae was never very modest, ever. However, so many people ended up getting fooled by her obviously fake personality. The SH incident clearly shows how she will guilt trip people. She also continuously posts "vents", even now. The truth is, she's(or they're) an attention seeking twelve year old who pretends that she's been through so much trauma, and she knows about her mindless, brainless fans who'd do anything for her and manipulates them to do what she wants them to.

I know I'm really late to this video and I don't know if anyone else has said this yet but coming from someone who is also a Filipino, I think the reason why senpaibae whitewashed the encanto characters is because of the colorism in our country. Dark skinned filipinos are really disrespected in the Philippines and I have had experiences where teachers where called "uling" which means charcoal in english (EVEN THOUGH THEY WERE LITERALLY JUST TAN) I'm not trying to defend her but whitening and looking more western is a very big beauty standard here that has lead to colorism so maybe this is the reason why she did this

Even though she whitewashed and all that stuff I still dont think she deserved the death threats, as nobody should send or receive death threats. The community handled the situation incorrectly, I'm pretty sure senpaibae is around 12, so shes a child handling this situation. I think maybe she was scared so she kept lying, and I know that probably makes no sense. She had to deal with so many videos either hating on her or just talking about the situation, they basically did this until she quit. I had no idea about this stuff at the time since I wasn't on youtube for awhile. It is not my place to forgive her or not I dont think, as I wasn't on youtube during this time. I hope her mental health gets better, and she learns through her actions maybe even become a better person. I also hope she is okay after all this.

i thought that their videos were pretty good and I subbed for a while but when they white washed and blamed the app for it and continued uploading without a good apology i stoped watching, i heard that their gonna quit ( they said on the community tab that their giving the channel to their best friend ) because the drama damaged their mental health a lot honestly ngl i think they should just take a break and then not get themselves into any more drama. they acted a bit immature because they uploaded some vents after the drama which was kind of like guilt tripping ( acting like their the victim even tho the white washing triggered some people ) but they were only 12 so it’s not surprising that they didn’t make a good apology ( im not saying that just because their young their age will not excuse their actions im just they that you shouldnt be surprised they acted immature ) anyways good video flo! very informative. ( and I also tried to check if capcut would make it that light and it did not, besides even if it did why wouldn’t it effect the other colours? why only the skin ;-; )

I feel awful for senpai bae for her SH , obviously it’s an awful thing for anyone to go through , and I genuinely hope she gets help for this - but using it to guilt-trip POC is absolutely disgusting . Also I don’t like how this is framed as a single mistake or ‘ drama ‘ , it’s RACISM . You cannot accidentally make very clearly black characters white then accidentally lie about it . Hey Flo, just wondering if you can do a rant on someone called Scarlet_Potatobean and mainly their “hitting mean I love you” trend, people are getting the wrong message, feeling uncomfortable with the video and some even think the situation they are in irl is fine because the video said so. People are also defending the video, making jokes about the situation and begging for a part 2. The owner is refusing to delete said video and is ignoring the comments from people who have went through the same thing shown on the video.The video itself is portraying bullying as love and making @bus3 romantic. Edit: The creator has recently unpinned one comment due to the backlash and pinned another one that they made.

This was very informational, thank you Flo. However, if I may say this, I have a feeling you know Astri-Nomical. They made a video about senpaibae as well, like a day or two ago. I commented on it stating my opinion and I was accused of being false by someone who I will not name. Someone had replied to my comment about the skin tones and I, along with another person, corrected them. However, the person who I will not name said that yes, she did purposely whitewash and she apologized, so "shut the f-ck up" (sensoring for those who may be triggered by swearing). They were a toxic fan, I'd assume. Another person, as well as myself, defended my opinion and they said that I had no proof, even though Astri-Nomical had an entire video with proof. I'm not sure if this is related to the video or not, but I thought I'd just say that senpaibae had toxic fans, which I had encountered. Just thought I would let you know.
