As much as Azula is my 2nd favourite character on the show (Katara is 👑, obvi), I’ve always thought that Team Azula should’ve had more difficulty in defeating Suki and the other Kyoshi Warriors. Like sure, Azula is super well-trained in bending and combat, Mai has her blades and Ty Lee is a chi blocker extraordinaire, but they were still on some level three pampered aristocrats in comparison to the Kyoshi Warriors who'd spent their whole lives training in combat. I know the fight scene was just supposed to be small because the episode was aimed at focusing on Appa’s lost days (lol literally) but maybe they should’ve had two fight scenes and had Team Azula almost lose but then defeat the Kyoshi’s in the end by some small margin.

Why aren't people talking about Ty Lee being forced to join Azula? It's clear that she really was already happy at the circus but she knows if she stays there, Azula will make her and her circus' life hard just for refusing her.
@amharbinger Жыл бұрын
Like her father Azula saw relationships as tools. Zuko escaped that fate by finding people who cared for him but Azula never had that. They weren't really her friends, Ty never wanted to join her and wanted to remain at the circus but used fear to force her. Mai cared for Zuko and in her own way felt he lost his way and was betraying his people. Like her fighting she uses force in everything because it's all she knows. Iroh taught Zuko control and compassion, Ozai taught Azula anger and violence.

You'll notice she didn't start to fall apart until she lost Mai and Ty Lee. Azula had a fragile mind that depended on her knowing those two were totally committed and submissive to her. When she lost that one and only constant in her entire life she instantly started to fall apart.

@@xaviergarcia8342 I wouldn't say that. Sure, Zuko's story has been done before, but he does have the twist where he meets his "crossroads of destiny" and slips back to the bad side. As much as I loved Zuko and his redemption. Azula mopped the floor with anyone. She was a fierce prodigy and was trained and had the intelligence that made her super resourceful and could use anything around her as a weapon. She was a chameleon with her disguises as keyoshi warriors, managed to manipulate men older than her from warlords to even a gullible king. She was brilliant with strategy and she herself was a weapon. Her only downfall was her lack of empathy for others or being able to show real emotion caught up to her.
