The NXT Seven or the Nexus were a group that ran roughshot on WWE, At the time, It seemed like the group were headed for big things but then as time went on, The Nexus lost their heat. I think the nexus was a great team with a lot of potential though I think since they continued the team as the “New Nexus” they should of had and official ending. I read that after money in the bank 2011 cm punk was no longer the leader of the nexus, and McGillicutty and Otunga were the only 2 left. It also said that on the August 1st episode of raw McGillicutty and Otunga had a match with no nexus armbands and no nexus in their music video therefore signaling the end of the Nexus. It had a TON of potential. Could have put right what the inVasion got wrong. But it was 2010 and WWE was starting to pander for sweet Komen/Be-A-Star/other charity sponsor Money so it couldn't get off the ground. Cena was already WWE's biggest ambassador so he needed to be Super Cena over 9000 in 2010.

Cena didn’t change the result as Vince had decided the result, Cena wanted to do a different finish to what Jericho and Edge suggested and after doing the finish Cena wanted Cena realised he was wrong and said to both Jericho and Edge they were right and he was wrong. Edge and Jericho spoke about this on Jericho’s podcast a few years ago.

*The Nexus was really promising. They had all the potential in the world to be one of the greatest WWE groups of all time. Plus Wade Barrett should’ve been world champion. But with the combination of bad booking and some of the group members getting injured is what really hurt the credibility of the group as a whole. I love John Cena to death, but that was such a dunderheaded move of him changing the finish to SummerSlam (even though he has admitted that he was wrong for doing that but still). Even Edge and Chris Jericho were very vocal about it as well.*

The Nexus is probably my all time favorite stable...I mean NWO and others were good, in their own way, but the Nexus were something completely different. Sure the booking got worse like most things in WWE at one point or another but I'll remember most of the good points. The corre was also pretty badass, don't forget their theme song(s) I go back and listen to several different versions from time to time.

Rey Mysterio too. He won the WWE title for the first time and he only had it for an hour. I was a big fan of his until he did those things. I really disliked cena for awhile when he did those things. Cena was supposed to be fired if he lost to CM Punk at MITB which he did yet he gets a title shot for no reason.

y2hulk hulk vs kong The Rey thing was really just sad. They had fucking Cena congratulating him after Rey won the damn title in a tournament only to lose to him later. Cena doing that to Rey was legit what a heel would’ve done. After this, Cena got a lot more predictable. I was able to get behind CM Punk more from this as well. Cena was a top star anyway, he didn’t even have to take the title from Rey and then Rey had no rematch clause. He had to try and win it in a fatal 4 way match where he lost. He had to go through a tournament and a fatal 4 way match for a rematch but not Cena? Another person he buried is is maybe The Miz or at least he was involved in that. Especially with how the Miz’s Wrestlemania main event was overshadowed by the whole Rock vs Cena going on.

It started with a good storyline i agree with you Nexus should have won at Summer Slam and i think Wade Barret should have captured WWE title at Survivor Series and Cena should have free. After that we could see Cena vs Wade Barret Road to Wrestlemania. Nexus vs Raw superstar tag team match, also Cena vs Barret for the WWE title. If would that happened we could see better Wrestlemania 27 than this Miz and Cena one. After that storyline we could see Miz cash in but they did worst way for Nexus story.

We have never seen before storyline in wrestling history like this, it had great back story about being rookies versus superstars. They started great, they continued awesome but they messed it up at Survivor Series. Then turned Nexus group to a joke with Punk, it is really sad they could make very very interesting story at RTWM but they preferred a normal and boring and worst RTWM ever, WM 27 was worst and meaningless WM ever.
