*One major thing that was missed:* The NWO was the first faction in history to hold the world titles of TWO major promotions at the same time, with Hogan and Muta holding the WCW World Title and the IWGP Heavyweight championship respectively. This was even more impressive as these weren't just big promotions but the second and third most important titles on the planet (behind the WWF title), a feat of this magnitude has never been achieved since.
@chadarcher13 Жыл бұрын
one could argue that the WCW title was actually the most important title at that point

Not really a fall but slide into irrelevance. New Japan suffers from factions for sake of factions. Chaos is still around although they mean nothing ever since Nakamura left. What was the endgame for Los ingobernables? Suzuki-gun is still kinda sorta, but they did nothing with it for ages. As for BC - Kenny's run overexposed it and then Jay was rushed into position and by the time he figured it out- no one cared - and that Evil thing was quite a jump the shark

You should do the rise and fall of All Japan Pro Wrestling. They were big in the 80’s and 90’s and were up there with NJPW for the biggest promotion in Japan. But after Baba died, it seems they’ve basically died too.
@volodymyrbilyk5553 жыл бұрын
They bounced back with Mutoh a year after the exodus and had mostly solid 00s until Mutoh went back to New Japan to put over Tanahashi. Then they managed to fuck things up again in 2013 with wrestle-1 exodus but they are still around and kicking

At the very least All Japan Pro Wrestling was at least the equal of New Japan Pro Wrestling and were better than The WWWF/WWF/WWE during the 1970's. 1980's and 1990's. Their Wrestling Style was more like The Best NWA Promotions: Very Athletic and Very Physical. After Losing so many Wrestlers to other Promotions over the last 20 Years. I would rank New Japan Pro Wrestling, Pro Wrestling NOAH and Dragon Gate above them now.

@@JuliusC1973 Noah was built on All Japan tradition and it is quite interesting to compare the transformation of the aesthetic.
