as a die hard bucs fan myself for over 35 years i cant express to you in words how much baker means to me as a bucs fan. the bucs get me threw my work weaks during the season. baker just has this never give up, grit, and just drive to put on for tampa. i worship the ground he walks on. i love watching this man give it his all every weak. it gives me pride watching him play. i know thats cringe af but idc its real. Im a browns fan and Most of those analyst never actually watched our games and they know it, they just check box score, no analysis , no context , baker was always incredibly talented with the ability to make every throw and I always knew he was gonna be great elsewhere and I hope he wins a superbowl. Unfortunately national media will never give him the credit he deserves , winning a superbowl might be the only way he gets the credit he deserves for how good he is.

Cleveland trading him after he played the entire 2021 season injured was so low. Especially considering his last season healthy (2020) took them to the playoff victory. However, I'm glad they did, because I think Baker's career would've been over had he stayed in that organization. Tampa is the best thing that happened to him.

He doesn't just have the love of the Tampa region, he's got a whole lot of us Clevelanders rooting for him too. Nobody I knew wanted that trade, even though he played poorly (injured) in 2021 he was all in for us, they did him so dirty. But I think it worked out for the best for Baker, his composure on the field has matured so much and I can only think that's because of the culture in Tampa. Still a Browns fan but until they complete this implosion and dig out of the rubble, GO BUCS!

I was heartbroken when i heard baker was leaving Cleveland. I was moving to tampa when they announced the watson trade and i called it right then and there that watson would be a bust move. Im sitting here smug as hell over my cleveland relatives. Lo and behold a year later Baker comes to Tampa and balls out. Hell of a story. What a fun guy to follow.

Cleveland backstabbing their franchise icon who led them to their first winning season and playoff victory in a generation after a single mediocre season (that was largely caused by injury) is probably the most Cleveland thing they could have done. Baker is a Franchise QB, the man plays with 100% HEART 100% of the time. He has the same hunger to win as Tom Brady did, he just goes about it differently and that's perfectly ok. Can Baker win a Super Bowl? Well we did it in 2002 with Brad Johnson and if you ask any Bucs fan if they would want Brad Johnson or Baker Mayfield as their QB, its going to be overwhelmingly Mayfield. Absolutely Baker can help the Bucs win a Super Bowl, if we could stay healthy this year we would be up there next to Detroit in games won vs lost, I believe the Bucs are either the 1st or 2nd most injured team in the NFL this year. I firmly believe once this 3 year 110 million dollar contract is up, Baker will get a 5 year deal and he will likely retire as a Buc, and have his name on our "Ring of Honor". I also believe Baker Mayfield will also end up winning a gold jacket and be inducted into the NFL Hall of Fame with a story about perseverance as well. In fact this is yet another parallel to Tom Brady, both of those guys had to FIGHT to get where they are and they were relentless in that fight. I am not saying Mayfield is Brady, but he does share at least 2 core similarities with the GOAT, very important ones at that.

when Baker first signed in Tampa I wasn't really sure what to expect. i knew he had the potential but the few seasons after leaving Cleveland kinda skewed things, but then again being on god awful teams didn't help (other than that small stretch he played with the Rams). Brady was able to take that team to a super bowl and two other playoff appearances. honestly if Baker was able to even make the playoffs with that same roster i would have been happy. but this? THIS? not COMPLETELY unexpected but to say it's come as a shock would be an understatement.

I was happy to hear it when Tampa brought in Mayfield. I didn't know if he was going to work out though, I just thought it was a smart move by Tampa. They couldn't afford a QB and I wasn't sold on Trask. I had big question marks about Trask as he didn't take the #2 spot from Gabbert when Brady was there. So, bringing in Mayfield for basically peanuts was a low risk, high reward move in my eyes. And the investment payed off. Baker's a dog, it's hard not to like him as the leader of this team

Cleveland is a place no QB wants to go. They have great fans, but the ownership is crap with the attention span of gnat. The New York Jets have okay ownership, loyal long suffering fans, and like Cleveland, a history of mostly poor coaching hires. What do Sam Darnold and Baker Mayfield have in common? The misfortune to have been drafted by Cleveland and the Jets. That's it. If you're good and you go to a good organization with a good coach, you will suceed.
