A LOT of folks (including Vitalik Buterin) thought that folks who invested in LUNA/UST should have benefited from deposit insurance (govt regulation) and folks now are saying that Alex Mashinsky (Celsius founder) should be in jail (even though they likely dismissed negative claims about Celsius as "FUD").

Agreed the audio balancing is really bad. Julia's sound quality is the best, but her actually sound level is significantly quieter than Ryan's. I want to increase the volume to hear her better, but I can't really because then Ryan's sound is to loud. The ad spots and supplementary audio clips from the other guests are even louder than Ryan's audio so everytime It switches its painful and I have to constantly be adjusting the volume like Tobibi. Not a great listening experience which sucks cause this is an amazing episode!

While I have heard of some pyramid schemes and it certainly has similarities in the way that people are recruiting others in their sphere of influence to drive up the value of their own holdings, I'd say that banks and institutional investors are really more on the pump and dump side of this.

I'm actually not surprised there is a lot of Hispanic adoption. Sending money internationally is awful, random banks takes fees, and it takes forever. One of the big promises of Crypto/DeFi is to make it an easier process with less middle men taking a cut. If they can actually pull it off, it will take off. But that is a big if. I wish the existing system would fix the problems that make people so desperate for alternatives.

It's not random banks though. It's the banks handling the transfer. Exchanging currencies, being responsible if something goes wrong, actively searching for money laundering/fraud. That kind of works costs money because people are doing it.

This is gonna look really uneducated and shortsighted in about a year when crypto is back at ATH. Crypto is here and it's not going anywhere. Drawdowns have happened since its inception. This was not a "crash" - it's a normal part of the cycle. Experienced hodlers weren't buying at ATH. We're buying now.

@@benjaminshinar9509 you have to learn the difference between inflationary and deflationary forces in crypto, and how volatile classes of assets behave. The BTC draw down this time was not 80%, it was ~68%, continuing a trend of progressive moves towards stabilization of the asset. The next draw down may only be 45% and so on, until it stabilizes. The problem is most people who FOMO'd in were looking for a quick get rich scheme and they only looked at the last microcycle. they weren't looking at the full life cycle of crypto to predict what it would do next. I only buy when BTC is under $20k, and sell above $40k. But I also don't let my emotions get involved, I stick to my plan and so far it's worked great for me.

@@nottheone582 glad to hear things are working for you. what would stablized btc mean? you say that this was caused by people who didn't understand the lifecycle of crypto, and that you apparntly do. but aren't those two ideas in odds with one another? in order to hit the market and make gains (buy low, sell high) you want volatiliy, but you say that these cycles will converge on some stablezied value, which would render your plans ineffective. if it's volatile, it can't be a currency, if it's an asset, it doesn't have any external market value, and you're basically buying and selling baseball cards from other speculators.
