Random clarification, jungkook was indeed the one who got "beat up" , not a back up dancer...but the actors who "beat him up" were just their managers and staff, dudes they usually work with. During this time, they were still on a tight budget, didn't have money, so they used their manager's personal car (which rm infamously accidently scratched during filming), the filmed outside in tunnels and typical public locations, the extras were all people in the company like ordinary staff. During the filming behind-the-scenes you can see jungkook laughing with the staff about how they are having trouble convincingly beating him up, cuz he's that little baby brother of the company they all dote on a bit

Love this series. Hitman Bang PD stepped down as CEO but still is Chairman as he has the most shares. He wants to be more involved with the music side. So maybe we'll get more great music from him as he writes and produces again. I Need You was their break through song and the start of the BU. All I can say is the Grammys suck.

bts seemed like an overnight success at the time because the korean media would not acknowledge them (partially due to pressure/influence from the big 3) until they got too big to ignore, so it seemed like they came out of nowhere.

1:01:18 EXACTLY !! why else would the scammys have bts' performance be at the end of the show ? especially when the award they were nominated for wasn't even broadcasted in the actual show (it was included in a pre-show type livestream separate from the official award ceremony). they used them for views since they know army made up more than half the viewers (in fact bts' unplanned livestream right after the grammys ended had more viewers than the official grammys livestream).

Haha love you guys also want to add that spotify filterd 47% of Butter streams from 20 milj. To 11 milj. from their first day and American signed artists new songs were filterd 2% since 2018 us music idustry bought shares in spotify and are controlling popular playlisting and streames.💜

The award shows aren't gonna add voting. Just take Billboard for example. They "pause" Social Artist Award, which BTS kept winning for 5 years in a row. 💁🏻♀️

Time will come that BTS will no longer attend those rigged western award shows, just like what they do in some award shows in Korea. They just sends pre-recorded acceptance speech. BTS are kind and humble but they are smart and they know when they do them wrong.

Also wanna say, just cause u hear a song a lot in the radio it doesn't mean is actually good or ppl want the song. Companies are known for paying radio station to play their artist songs even paying stream services to be added in playlists.

Ok but actually big3 privilege also touchs internationals fans tbh, the second the news that a big company will debut a new group, everyone will be interest and will tune in. I saw a group being announced, only their name, and saw in minutes plenty of fans of others kpop groups suddenly turning their fans accounts to fan accounts dedicated to that new group even tho the only thing they know about them is their name. Don't know anything about them but theses news groups will directly have plenty of fans. How to know theses people aren't there for the music tbh...
@harika_93993 жыл бұрын
Well if it’s a new grp debuting I’m def tuning in to check out how they sound, their concept and stuff. Also if they really are from such big companies they can’t be sounding bad yk They do deserve the recognition! If the company is huge it only means they have to trains for years and compete against hundreds of trainees. Not really a “privilege” imo
@lulu_lovegood3 жыл бұрын
exactly. it's so dumb that people can't really see how ridiculous it is to immediately turn into fans of people you don't even know. and the privilege they have because of the name of big companies is real too. what's even funny is that 80% of the time they're not even talented enough lol they don't even write their on music pls
@harika_93993 жыл бұрын
@@lulu_lovegood well this whole “privilege” is a topic for sure. Also it’s weird to call it a privilege as I said in my previous comment; TXT and Enhypen are totally privileged too. Any grp that debuts under an agency who got a reputable grp is privileged???

Thanks for continuing this series 😄 I enjoy your commentary on it. Sorry that I cant be there live but at least you get the vid up 💜 As for the bots and bought streams, this is what some think Army is as its so common in the industry. Bots and bought streams. Look at the bb top 10 this week, its pretty much all Drake....you think that's not part of industry. What people they don't understand is that the Aemy numbers continue to go up with every comeback and its hugely populated with loyal fans. I joined their yt channel when it had 22 mill subs....that was the beginning of last year, 2020....its now almost at 60 mill....22 mill after 7 yrs then 38 mil in the last year and a half. Yeah concert tickets are going to be so hard to get. But it shows the progression of the amount of loyal fans they get that will stream amd buy their music. That no 1 is always organic. Industry has no part in it only fans. Thanks for the vid guys! Hope you have a wonderful day!

BTS and BigHit were literally nothing in the eyes of the South Korean idol music industry, BTS had no seniors to rely on for guidance or support, BigHit barely had any money and the company almost went bankrupt due to BigHit not having a lot of artists due to how small they were and because a previous artist they had got into a scandal, which meant BigHit reputation went down, so no one went to them, so BigHit had less of a chance to create more artists, you get the endless circle. Due to them having no money that meant their training area was so small BTS’ practice room mirror got fogged up from the member’s breathing and they had to wipe it up with newspaper and the company building being small and in a bad neighborhood so the building rooms with the equipment and dance training for BTS regularly got flooded, so BTS had to always scoop out water with buckets. BTS also didn’t have a lot of money for food and put any money they made towards their music videos, art, etc. so their love for food even today could partially be because of how little they had back then. BigHit had no chance of becoming big, BTS had no chance of becoming big, or at least not compared to the groups who people actually knew due to the power of money and face from the big three companies. The big three had so much money and influence through their word due to them being so well known, they had tons of media coverage and had enough influence to keep it that way, just on them. The only people BTS had to support them, and the people which got BTS to where they are today is BTS themselves, BigHit, and ARMY, no one else. This win for I Need U was the first step in BTS’ journey of demolishing the power of the big three in idol music, and many people, fans of the big three and company officials alike did NOT LIKE IT. So you’ll see from here on out a rise in attacks on the BTS members, both professionally from corporate entities and media entities (since the companies had so much power over them), and personally online from fans of the big three. The only people BTS had to support them, and the people which got BTS to where they are today, is BTS themselves, BigHit, and ARMY, no one else. I guess that’s why I get so annoyed with the statement that BTS benefited from Kpop’s success or when BTS is attached to the Kpop/idol music label, because it’s false. All this time, BTS was operating OUTSIDE of the idol music system through management practices from the company, social media presence, artistic creativity and freedom, all of which other big three groups and other idol companies didn’t do plenty of at all. Because of operating outside of that, and therefore succeeding, BTS have benefited greatly and yet have also gone through so much pain. That is why BTS is so big. Their label, BigHit and CEO, Bang PD, formed BigHit and BTS in rebellion to the unfair practice of the idol music industry. In doing so, he made BTS stand out and become who they are today. To Bang PD, he didn’t run this business with business and making money and being in the favor of the government in mind, he ran this business with making great music and caring for his artists and helping general public/BTS’ audience in mind. THAT is the big difference between Bang PD and BigHit from all these other idol music companies, and it is VITAL to how BTS became so different from other idols since the beginning. From the beginning they had social media presence, artistic freedom, and human connection between artist, label, fan. That is why it’s such a frustration when people put BTS and Idol music together, because BTS never formed under the idol umbrella. They never operated with general idol practices, such as being on tons of variety shows, being in commercials, getting screen time through television with performances or entertainment, etc. They were operating outside of all that, especially because they were in a small company with no reputation/prestige or sway in business conversations. However, BTS also experienced beauty and love and freedom of expression through music and sharing it with other people that many others in big companies didn’t at the time. It is why they deserve so much more than the the idol music label put on them, because they are so much more than what the idol music industry gave to them, which is nothing. All this time, BTS was operating OUTSIDE of the idol music system through fair and caring management practices from the company, social media presence, artistic creativity and freedom, all of which other big three groups and other companies did not have plenty of at all. Because of operating outside of that, and therefore succeeding, BTS have set a precedent for other companies to follow if they choose to, and therefore improve the lives and working conditions of idols all across the board. It is utterly astounding and moving to realize how much improvement and good they have left for idols artists in South Korea in their wake.

Since BTS became huge all around the globe, a lot of people turning their heads to KPop/Idol Music now...and whose benefitting from that? Those groups from the Big three companies who enjoys the influx of people interested in KPop now. Back then they had tried everything to bury and discredit BTS...UpTo now they can't admit that BTS paved the way.
@cnot49483 жыл бұрын
Excellent comment. I also get frustrated when people try to link BTS' success to the K-Pop industry as a whole.
@Jaguar4703 жыл бұрын
@Nikkaness Baltazar Exactly!! Like, you can see it too! If you check out BTS performances at big events back in 2013/2014 you can see the audience reactions and the idols are CHEERING for them! Goin wild and having fun. But in 2018? Nothing, stone cold silence when BTS performed. It was SO startling to see the idols cheering for them when I dug up those old videos, just because I’m so used to quite and silence from them. And you can SEE the progression too!! Like, go through each years award shows and watch idols react to BTS, and you’ll see that 2013/2014 cheers claps, woooooo! 2015/2016 slight cheering but it’s starting to die down, especially in 2016. 2017/2018 silence. I hate it, and it makes me so mad and upset for the guys because it’s like, when the big three were up there back in 2013/2014 going ham wild, did BTS resent them or get mad? NO!! They enjoyed the performance!!! But when it’s the other way around, those big idols can’t get over their pride and resentment in order to cheer for a great artist they are seeing perform, all because that artist beat them. The double standard and attitude is utterly infuriating, and I’m so happy BTS managed to survive through that, because I can just imagine however I feel over this, they feel ten times worse.
@Jaguar4703 жыл бұрын
@C not Thank you! And yeah, the media articles just can’t seem to mention BTS without mentioning “the rise of Kpop” can they? Or worse, it being the other way around, talking about the rise of Kpop, and yet the only people they can bring up in those articles with actual substantial accomplishments is BTS.
