She talks about hypocricy? She is the one who made so many awful things and still considers herself a victim.

Mahidevran is forever provoking hurrem or resorting to physical violence but no one checks her. Mahidevran slapped Aybige a literal princess but no one checked her. But as soon as Hurrem defends herself she is a snake. When she rocked Hatice’s world for using witchcraft on her she faced certain death, yet SOMEHOW Mahidevran is a victim 😭😭😭😭 we don’t even have a scene of her getting slapped but we have scenes of Şah and Hatice Sultan getting slapped 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

RIGHT!!?? she should have gotten at least a good ear ringer! I have said it a thousand times, If they got rid of Miri, they would have all gotten along and lived longer. She influenced everyone with spewing her venom in their ears. Ibrahim's attitude might have changed if he didn't get away with so much protecting her and Mustafa. Seeing her manipulate Mustfa over the years started to fuel his confidence that he could rule through Mustafa. If Miri was out of the picture, either his mom, Hattice, or most likely Hurrem would have raised Mustafa. The kids would have grown up close to each other and may have shared power. Then alot more people would have survived.

Mahidevran is such a narcissistic nightmare that she couldnt even hold herself back on Hatice and Ibrahim's big day. Anyone with even a sliver of sense and respect would have waited until they were somewhere else. But no, of course she had to make a scene. That is one of the things that convinces me of her narcissism, she has to make everything about her.

Mahidevran could have had a good life and possibly her son could have lived....IF she could only have admitted her own defeat and had learned to defer to Hurrem. This would even have delighted Hurrem to no end and she would have been only too happy to show how gracious a victor she was. Mahidevran was lost in the delusions she mocked up in her mind during the early days of her relationship with Suleiman when their son was small, before he ascended as Sultan. She refused to embrace the reality that was before her and would not relent in her demands for what she mistakenly believed she was entitled to which in truth was actually not a thing. Even Hurrem was not entitled to anything. It was hers the way anything else was for everyone and anyone else. Because His Majesty bestowed it upon them as it pleased him to do so. So because Mahidevran would not engage in trying to please the Sultan, he grew weary of her. He tried to pacify her as did many others. Even Ibrahim did his best to protect her but as is the way of such persons it was in vain. People like this never learn their lesson which in the end is this and rooted in all human nature. If you cannot, you will not and you shall not be helped, pleased or made happy in any way then everyone Will tire of you and wash their hands of you.

I agree with everything except Mustafa living if she accepted defeat. Remember there’s a fratricide law he would’ve gotten executed along with Hurrems other sons and not even Hurrem can prevent this. Mahidevran should’ve just focused on her son’s political career like the Mahidevran irl.

@@asaasura6901 Yeah, even with the _very_ slim chance that a son of Hürrem's could've attempted to stop and or otherwise alter the fratricide law, it would've applied to those brothers he'd shared a household with and not Mustafa. It's not really until the reign of Ahmed I that there was a true chance to redefine the law and, even then, it didn't go away entirely (tragically).

@@Redluna32 exactly. it took like a few more generations for the fratricide law to go away entirely. But not sure about the law not applying to Selims brothers. Prior to Hurrem there was a law that a concubine could only have one son for this exact reason.

@@asaasura6901 It's why I refer to it as a very slim chance since it more had to do with the Ottomans facing, for the first time, sons that were raised altogether competing for the throne. It was a new concept that, perhaps, could've lead to new allowances, but we really, really don't know, especially based on how things turned out. (If anything, more likely, is that Cihangir, not perceived an active competitor to the throne, would've been spared under the reign of any brother but Mustafa.)
