The Rise Of Hurrem #75 - Hurrem Forcibly Apologized To Mustafa! "I HATE YOUR MOTHER"
Click here to watch The Rise Of Hurrem 👉 • The Rise Of Hurrem - M...
At the age of 26, when he ascended to the throne, Sultan Suleiman aimed to build an empire more powerful than Alexander the Great and to render the Ottomans invincible. Throughout his 46-year reign, he became the greatest warrior and ruler of both East and West.
The young Suleiman received news of his succession to the throne during a hunting party in 1520. Unaware that he would be ruling a reign beyond his dreams, he left behind his wife son and took to the road with his close friend and companion Pargali Ibrahim to reach the Topkapi Palace in Istanbul. As they started their journey overland, an Ottoman ship set sail from Crimea in the Black Sea, bringing female slaves as gifts for the Ottoman palace… On this ship was Alexandra La Rossa, the daughter of a Ukrainian Orthodox minister, taken away from her family and sold to the Crimean palace. She had no idea that she would become Hurrem, wife of Sultan Suleiman and mother of princes, ruling the empire with him through bloodshed and intrigue.
As Sultan Suleiman conquered the world, his great passion for Hurrem would clash with his love for and trust in his closest friend and advisor, Grand Vizier Pargali Ibrahim, all set against the backdrop of the tension between Christian Europe and the Ottoman Empire in the 16th century.

Maybe a small detail but I LOVEEE how young Mihrimah was present for the confrontation between Mustafa and her mother, watching him be so hostile towards Hurrem fueled her anger and ultimately explains why she played such a huge role in his execution

I always say that Mahidevran ended up being one of her son's biggest downfalls. She should have never involved him in her feud with Hurrem. When you weaponize your child against your enemy, don't be surprised when they view them as a threat.

@@TJRhea I disagree. Hurrem wanted Mustafa gone so her own kid can be King. This was well known to Mahidevran so made sure her son knew to be aware of her. Also Hurrem used her status one too many times to suppress Mahidevran. Not to mention Hurrem wanted to ruin Mustafa as Crown Prince with that concubine. Hence Mahidevran was right in fueling him. If your mom is in danger or constantly insulted, will you be okay with that? No ofc not. Mustafa is a good son. Mahidevran accused Hurrem and she did it rightfully which angered Hurrem and she wanted Mahidevran to shut up.

People, did focused on something else here? Suleyman pointed something which Hürrem forgot! As everyone in the palace should have respected her as Sultan Suleyman's legal wife, she should have been the same, especially to Mustafa, who was the second important person in the dynasty, after Suleyman! Hürrem always wanted respect from everyone, but she never saw the respect to the others!

Why does she have to apologise to him. she did nothing to him. it was his mother who provoked her and she stood to defend herself. How much did he see to think hurrem was the bully. Honestly even if he saw it all he still would have defended his mom. The reason for her to apologies didn’t even make sense.

Mahidevran told people that Hurrem was trying to harm her son. It's the truth. So how is Mahidevran wrong? As such hurrem has no rights to yell at Mahidevran.

Mahidevran telling Hurrem that no one likes her and that she is unwanted is the biggest joke to me. No one actually likes her either. The only reason Gulfem and Hatice tolerate her nonsense is because they have to. Without Mustafa to hide behind, she would have been thrown out ages ago. Her servants only go along with her out of fear. And Valide only takes her side because she hates Hurrem more (for some ridiculous reason). It's convenient for her to side with Mahidevran because they both hate her. The enemy of my enemy so to speak.

Mahidevran also said one other thing once: “ When Hurrem was in the slave markets, she (Mahidevran) gave to Valide a grandson.” You’ll haves to rethink Mahidevrans relationship with the family.
@loliver9660
@loliver9660 2 ай бұрын
@WatermelonCat-yc4bq The timeline of events couldn't be helped. It's not Hurrem's fault that she didn't arrive at the harem sooner. And it was a completely random chance that Mahidevran gave the Sultan a son. It could have just as easily been a girl. Mahidevran purposely flatters Valide and makes herself out to be a victim. If she didn't have Mustafa, I couldn't even see Valide keeping her around for long. But it doesn't matter because none of this happened in real history. The Haseki title didn't even exist until Hurrem, and Mahidevran wasn't even referred to as a Sultana. She wasn't treated with nearly such deference. The real Valide also didn't hate Hurrem. All of this was made up for dramatic effect.

@@loliver9660 You’re missing the point. When Hurrem came, Mahidevran had established herself as the favourite, a mother of a prince, and had already established her bonds with everyone. She was part of the family way before Hurrem came. These are the facts. Hypotheses about “what ifs” are just that: hypotheses. The truth is that Hurrem was an outsider, not Mahidevran. Even though, at times they both were lashed out at, so probably they both were considered inferior in reality. But Mahidevran also had moments when she was more loved. But to say that Hurrem was more loved than Mahidevran, is a big stretch. Also, you are really overstating the love that Hurrem received here. Who was the historically proved nickname “witch” made for? The only person that ever loved Hurrem was Suleiman. That’s where all the titles come from, Suleiman made them. They don’t mean anything more to anybody. Her titles don’t mean any love towards her by anyone other than the Sultan. Hurrem was historically hated by the whole of the empire. The people considered her a witch and an outsider, much like Ibrahim. They were considered outsiders and inferiors, who corrupted and bastardised the state, the empire, the dynasty and even the Sultan himself. The fact that she also was a woman, probably makes things even worse. Even today Islam considers women as inferior, let alone back then. So to make Hurrem seem like an all beloved, respected High Queen is a big stretch. She was just this: a lonely slave girl who had the luck to be loved by a mighty Sultan. But he was everything she had in this world. And that’s why we should love Hurrem. Not because she outranked everybody or because she had many beautiful titles. But because she was all alone in a big foreign world. And she won. So to sum up, I never considered the hatred that was portrayed in the series by Valide towards Hurrem to be exaggerated. Consider it, perhaps, a reflection of the sentiments that the majority of people had at the time towards Hurrem, reflected on her relationships inside of Royal Court. I believe it isn’t so exaggerated for dramatic effect as people say. And, hey, in the end that’s what we want. If you want to learn history, go watch a documentary or read a book. I’m tired of people saying that “everything shown here is made for dramatic effect”. Like duh.

@@WatermelonCat-yc4bq I mean, OP isn't actually wrong at all to claim that the real Hafsa didn't despise Hürrem since, not only could her unique position within the harem not exist without her permission, the only interaction between the two to be recorded actually has Hafsa going out of her way to console and accommodate Hürrem. “The sultan was given two beautiful Russian maidens by a provincial governor, one for his mother and one for him. When they arrived in the palace, his second wife [sic], whom he esteems at present, became extremely unhappy and flung herself to the ground weeping. […] *The mother, who had given her maiden to the sultan, was sorry about what she had done, took her back, and sent her to one of the governors as wife,* and the sultan agreed to send his to another governor, because his wife would have perished from sorrow if these maidens, or even one of them, had remained in the palace. *The most remarkable feature of Bragadin’s account, however, was Suleyman and Hafsa’s willingness to accommodate Roxelana’s sentiments. It seems the concubine’s bold presumption of rank did not offend the sultan and queen mother. Indeed, Hafsa appears to have been remorseful.* Suleyman and especially his mother, herself a former slave consort, would understand the young concubine’s determination to protect herself and her son at all costs. If Roxelana acted out of pure jealousy, hers was likely not the first such display to occur in the harem."- Leslie Peirce, _Empress of the East: How a European Slave Girl Became Queen of the Ottoman Empire_ It's true that Hürrem was by no means universally loved (the Ottoman populace struggled to make sense of the new permissions granted to her and the soldiers disliked the threat she posed to Mustafa taking the throne) but it's equally incorrect to claim universally despised. There's no record of any of Suleiman's family ever speaking out against her (in fact, she might've been on good terms with one or two of his sisters!), she had allies and friends within the harem, and her charity work was respected.
