As they started their journey overland, an Ottoman ship set sail from Crimea in the Black Sea, bringing female slaves as gifts for the Ottoman palace… On this ship was Alexandra La Rossa, the daughter of a Ukrainian Orthodox minister, taken away from her family and sold to the Crimean palace. She had no idea that she would become Hurrem, wife of Sultan Suleiman and mother of princes, ruling the empire with him through bloodshed and intrigue.
As Sultan Suleiman conquered the world, his great passion for Hurrem would clash with his love for and trust in his closest friend and advisor, Grand Vizier Pargali Ibrahim, all set against the backdrop of the tension between Christian Europe and the Ottoman Empire in the 16th century.

Pretending to give hurrem poison was a really messed up way to make hurrem prove her love for him

But that helped him made up his mind. She did not beg and only warned him about what she thought was right. She did say "Punish him or they are liars." She just said what she always said and this i think was the spot where she earned his trust.

@@asaasura6901 The especially messed up part about it to me is that, earlier on, Hürrem had actually shown Suleiman the poison she intended to drink had he died, only for him to pour it out, insisting she didn't need it. So this almost feels like he's trying to force her to prove her words? (Although there's at least one source that claims "for among the Turks the testimony of a dying man or one led to execution is of very great weight. In law it outweighs that of forty ordinary witnesses" so I always wondered if this was linked, in a way, to that.)

Mahidevran saying he doesn't trust her thanks to hurrem is stupid. She did that by herself. With her own poisoning and threatening hurrem and wanting the sultan to die. Also I don't think it was right for Mustafa to take them without her permission. He's not in charge of them like a guardian. He can't just take them out of their room when ever he wants. She didn't even know they were gone. Hurrem has at least that right as their mother
