Love this content man! I RPd on Los Santos Role play (LSRP) (English server) from around 2007 until the time it closed just a couple of years and that was my life for a while that and Valhalla RP. It's sad to see servers like that go but it is interesting how there are so many Russian/Bulgarian servers still around!

Why were there so many russians that wanted to play RP compared to the English community? 10 servers filled with 1000 players is crazy

Thank you for your comment! That's a great question. I don't think anyone knows for sure. It just kinda happened :D I can speculate that it has something to do with accessibility to young russian people who wanted to hang out with their friends outside of school, in a game. SA:MP client was perfect for that - easy to install and play, the game could be run on almost any PC. At first nobody cared about RP - it just happened to be the mod servers were using. The idea of roleplaying and having a career as if it was real life came later. And it kept growing by word of mouth plus all kinds of KZbinrs - big and new - were making videos about it at some point. I have started playing because of a KZbinr. But why is there barely any English presence in San Andreas RP - who knows. Seems to me that GTA 5 RP kinda blew up everywhere somewhat similarly to how SA:MP RP blew up in Russian community back in the day. I could always be wrong - it's just how I see it :D Also if you think 10 servers of 1000 players is crazy - 25 servers of 1000 players is a reality of Arizona RP right now lol

Miss LS-RP that was a english sever that had 1000 player base almost always full in early days when there was like 500 slots and had to wait to get in if you got kicked had to wait again, people grew up server and samp pretty much died .. and now they have LSRP on five m , damnn. I have a similar story, but I started playing SAMP around 2018, on the server "Welcome to Los Santos 2". But my gametime spiked during the covid. I made quite a lot of friends during this. But unfortunately after covid ended everyone became busy, I started with my college so everything came to a standstill for me like you.

Would love to see a video made by a Russian about Criminal Russia's story, various local references and inside jokes, and similar projects too! I've read a few GTAF posts with machine translation, and i remember seeing the various videos of the development uploaded by one of the 3D modellers of CR back in the day, but its not the same. At the moment there is a project for CR:MP (Criminal Russian Multiplayer) it is called “Black Russia”, it can only be played on phones and the total number of players reaches 87,100, ON ONE PROJECT, 68 servers with 1300 slots for players, and a huge queue at the busiest time

SAMP were still popular here in Indonesia ! We have lots of RP servers like Lunar Pride RP, Arivena Roleplay, and Jogjagamers RP (which was the most played server here in Indonesia) and many more. The community was still as good as the old days, and also the forums like Jogjagamers Forum that still gain popularity among the Indonesian gamers.

I really like this video. It have an interesting things that I didn't know and I did enjoy watching this documental. Congratulations for the work, your video is very good. I'm from Mexico and I grew up playing SAMP in Spanish Servers. Currently, the biggest spanish server is FenixZone RP, he have five servers with 1,000+ players everyday in total. I always believed that FenixZone was one of the greatest in the world, but compared to Arizona RP, damn haha. Spanish server are very basics in their gamemodes, they are so similar to early samp rp servers. They have a pay to fast system, and if you play free you need to work a lot ahah. I was watching some gameplays for Arizona RP, and her gamemode look so nice, with a lot of modern systems. I'll start learning russian for can play haha. And I can't forget the classic "Sorry for my bad english" haha

I remember my first time playing SAMP when i was about 5/6 back in 2008/9, it was one of the many games on my (at the time teenage) uncle's computer and i vividly remember trying to type the ROCKETMAN cheat and just ending up sending a message saying "MAN" in the chat multiple times because the T opened the chat lol i was so confused why the jetpack didn't work

this is really interesting. I also play rp, you may have heard of it. WTLS. I have been playing on it since 2018 but I am not so active nowadays. It has all the features you mentioned in your videos. Crazy how the original russian rp servers had such impact that after all these years the features are implemented, although the server itself is a decade old. I was the same. Going on the rp server to play, have fun. Have an internet persona and goof around with friends. But that time has gone by and now I live my life and my old friends live theirs. It was fun, it was enjoyable and I won't forget it ever.

I started SAMP about 5-6 years ago on English servers ('cause French are dead since a very long time ago) and today still, I'm having a blast. On MTA SA, I started about 1 year ago only playing in Need For Speed San ANdreas Server that's where I felt a good game waiting to be recognized

I hate myself for not playing samp in 2006 instead of learning to walk. Nowdays the feel of the game has pretty much shifted from being a "gta with friends" to something else, the rp servers (at least in Brazil) is one more mundane than the other. You farm farm and thats it.

Sadly english sa-mp RP is slowly dying off. I really miss those days when SA-RP , LS-RP , WC-RP, california gaming roleplay, streetz of los santos etc were still big servers and sa-mp had around a 100k players online around 2011-2015 really the best servers were around this time. I think when gta 5 rp was released gta sa-mp been slowly dying off sad to see i grew up on this game and learned most of my english on this game talking to other players and i met tons of people and have hundreds of playing hours on many servers. Probably my most favourite game all time. Weirdest thing that happend is i met someone in real life who i was at that time playing with in the same server without knowing , turned out it was my classmate in high school playing the same server haha. We found out when we started talking about sa-mp and we found out we were playing the same server and in the same gang too this was so weird we were friends ingame. We been in the same gang the whole time on an internet game but we did not know at all , but we were in the same class lol. 0000.01% that would ever happen this is what makes it so strange

@@AlexFreezeman I think Russian RP will stay the longest , it always had tons of Russian servers for years now with servers over 1000 players , English never really reached that. I hope that UIF server and NG-RP stay for a long time even though i don't like NG-RP and i don't really play SA-MP anymore , it would be sad to see these servers also dying because they been around for more than 10+ years and LS-RP is already dead so there's not much left anymore for English players its sad to see and i would like to keep my account on UIF from 2011 i still have it.

Ahh yeah, samp, played on Arizona Scottdale and Revent Violence because of youtubers who simply got paid for playing it (Verteich and guy named Nefedoni, who deleted his channel now, he was mostly known for his garrys mod dark rp videos, but dark rp is a fucking purgatory with absence of a things called rp and common sense. Nevermind). I remember how i had troubles installing samp cuz I didn’t know how to chose a correct folder to install it. And then i started grinding money. Then wasted it (50k on arizona rp in 2019 for new players used to took some time to earn) trying to get gun license (cant remember why exactly it costed me this much). Then without money and no gun license i decided to drop it, BUT NO! I stood up late and was grinding as a bus driver, then it was truck driver. Every morning in June I was waking up and trying to log into Scottdale server (it was 1000/1000 already) and then i had to deliver 8 loads of ammunition to gun stores as truck driver, get a bonus for doing it in employment center, switch my job to collector and go to the bank for cash collector vehicle and hop from place to place to collect money from atm machines,(need to say that atm is choosing randomly, and ppl will get 10k or something for killing you) I remember how some guy tried to rp rob me, i was so fed up with this shit that i gave him 30k just to make him go away and let me finish my job, he was so surprised that he said “nah thats too much” and gave me some money back and asked for a ride lol. I was making 250k a day this way and it took me 6 or something rather hours a day. Then I decided to join a faction and went to an interview to a Los Santos media center, i still have a video on my google.photos cloud shoted from my phone cheering that I got the job. But the main job was boring, all you had to do is redacting advertisers from players. Like changing “selling house in ghetto with garage for 2.5kk” to “Looking for buyer for a house in dangerous part of town with the garage. Price:2.500.000$. (Phone number was added automatically). And to rank up i had to do shitty tasks like throw out the garbage using “/me opened trash bin”, “/do trash bin opened” and etc (dont forget to screenshot all of this shit with “/time”), or take 5 cool photos of the city (i still have them on my imgur account) and them send a report to a forum with all proofs. Nowadays i just log into to earn some money, cuz being in a factions requires playing too much and doing shit ton of these forum reports. I grown up, dont wanna hear insults from a 15 yo kid who is leader cuz only thing he does in his life is playing samp (otherwise he wouldn’t be a leader in such young age), i have enough of such insults in dota 2 already. But it surely was fun back in 2019

I played hundreds and hundreds of hours of it. I found out about SAMP once, but it all seemed too cumbersome, that chat-action-thing seemed annoying.

It's not too late I think! Now some servers also use proximity voice chat so maybe it'll be even easier and you won't have to type everything! I can see why it can be annoying, after all - this is one of the reasons I quit SAMP.

Hi! Thank you! As for the Russian language, first - you might want to install Russian language pack on Windows (if that's your OS), and second - the encoding. Try googling "how to enable UTF-8 encoding on Windows 10/11", bc encoding actually might be the reason why Russian text isn't showing. One of, or both of these steps might help. At least, I really hope so, I'm no expert in this tbh lol

Nooo, it's a mod that has most of SAMP servers running on as a base. I thought I explained it in the video. Basically, you've most likely played on Godfather mod if you've played on any RP server. It has nothing to do with actual Godfather, be it the movie, the game, etc. So there is no such thing that you're looking for. It's just a title for a basis for the older SAMP RP servers.

We paid for CDs that were pirated by others. It was an alternative if you didn't have fast internet. Anyone could download games for themselves and not pay for disks if their internet speed was good

Hey, I recently stumbled upon 2 russian videos from a server called radmir and the second one called next rp. What are exactly those servers? Their own platforms? To me it seems like they are not mta/samp but their own games with a bunch of resources taken from gta sa. I watched a little bit of the gameplay and it looks very p2w and just weird...

Hi! From what I can tell, these servers are based on or inspired by a mod I mentioned in this video - Criminal Russia. It was a singleplayer mod at first, but it was later made into multiplayer. I plan on making a video on both of them some time hopefully next year!

I will never understand why owners won't translate the server in english as well, Russian servers and their system are very unique and interesting and i would love to play there, sadly it's close to impossible with the language barrier

You'll need GTA SA, samp client and you need to know the IP. There are websites where you can find them. Enter the IP and connect. It's pretty straightforward. Also there are probably guides on that on YT. Russian servers are joined on like any others.

I get you, but as unfair as it may seem, sometimes people want to play on their native language. Not 100% of the population knows English that well, so they play with what they can understand. I think if you search hard enough, there are more English speaking servers to play on, if not here then on MTA at the very least Samp might be considered dead, but as long as there are any servers online and people play there, the game isn't dead, but that's just my opinion.
