I got the HK nano also. I got the red one at Walmart a couple weeks ago. I didn't grow out of the phase either, and I'm also a collector. I don't have a Pokewalker though, I have a Tamawalkie, which is also a pedometer. I wear it on the waistband of my jeans at work. (Jan Griffiths).

Giga Pets actually made a comeback and they are still making them now. They are being made by the original makers just not distributed by Tiger Electronics. So far they have a remake of the puppy, a remake of the dino, a newly introduced unicorn, a 2 in 1 kitty which has the new Star Cat and the vintage 90's Compu Kitty programmed in. As well as the newly remade Floppy Frog. They also have Troll giga pets and pixies that have multiple stages of evolution and different activities. And coming soon they have yet another new Giga Pet being released. No name has been revealed yet.

Actually, the “watch” part of “Tamagotchi” isn’t entirely vestigial. Tamagotchi are still considered pocket watches, since the time can be set and displayed with the push of a button. And they’re no cheap digital watches either - each one has a crystal quartz oscillator inside to ensure it never loses its rhythm.

Oh man I remember in elementary school some kids would pay other kids to baby sit their tamagochi (like a quarter or a buck a day) so they could play instead on recess. So we bad guys and gals with like a tamagochi on each finger, or more lol.

My first tamagotchi was a Rakuraku Dinokun, back in 1996/7. I wasn't even aware of this until my aunt gave me one as a random gift. A few month later I started to see the bootleg ones selling on the streets for way less money.

I remember getting a Tamagotchi. Personally, I'm not a fan of the virtual pets (always keeps me awake at night, keeps dying despite the fact that I'm trying to breed them AND took good care of them), but I love the Nintendo DS games in which you help Tamagotchi characters open shops (including a sushi shop, a garage shop, a dentist's office, and a hospital). And I'm a big fan of Digimon, but I wasn't aware of the virtual pets until my high school years (currently playing Digimon ReArise on my phone).

I think TPCi can stand not only to bring back its pokemon virtual pet format, but it can also have the virtual pet versions compatible with Pokemon Home so they can be transferred to and from it, etc.

Your kitty is adorables! I had a Tamagotchi as a kid and loved playing with it but was also awful about keeping them alive. Now thankfully i have kitties who are very spoiled and healthy. I remember so much about These virtual pets. I had the original tamagotchi way back when. Also there was another online virtual dog one I remember online. Then also the ones other than Dogz and Catz you could download like movie tie in pets. Think I had Crickie from Mulan if I remember correctly. Anyways I still have a few of them. Wished I had though my Rancor and my Gigantic pet t-Rex. Though Digimon later had a very long digital pet line, I still love the original through the 3rd gen one. Right now though I have two original virtual pets. The pikachu one and somewhere I have the digimon version 5 (the one with the kids spirit evolving). I also bought the anniversary digimon original, gen 1 Tamagotchi, gen 3 tamagotchi, and gutetama (which is really fun to play with). I have though not had much time to play them as I use to, but from time to time I pop in a battery and have fun with them. It’s fun to go down memory lane with these as I was growing up.

Some nano tamagotchis don't poop. The newer Pac-Man and Demon Slayers are 2 examples. They are easy and fun to play. I even take them to work, and play them on breaks, and the convenience of the clock is great. Our breaks are 10 minutes long, and I know when it's time to return to work. I've had tamas since 1997, and I'm a collector. I have many different versions, in English and Japanese. I have over 100 different tamas, but typically run only 2 at a time. I still have my originals from 1997, and they work fine. I store them in plastic totes in our safe. (Jan Griffiths).
