The only problem I have is that NJ where I primarily race requires Red gas cans to be used at the track. People have gotten away with it but at NJMP last year we had a stern talking to because some of our cans were orange. It’s a better product then the vp racing can but for the time being we will continue to purchase them. Great video✌️.

NJ? Are you allowed to pour your own gas there or do they require a state certified gas pouring technician to do it for you?
@kcspeed9980 Жыл бұрын
@@f5tornadeau only at the pump, not on private property, most gas stations let you fill them yourself. But at the racetrack you are allowed to do as you please. As long as the can is RED. My friend asked what if our car was diesel, wasn’t a good idea.

Man watching you run those screws though your van like that made my heart jump. I have had all kinds of customers over the years run screws into harnesses and or lines etc over the years. Especially back in the day when kids like to "install" speaker amplifiers with metal screws. Anyhow being directly behind your wheel well you probably want to look under your van and make sure you did not hit anything important and also get you some spray rubberized undercoat to coat your screw coming through under your van. Otherwise, in just a few short years your vans floor will start to rust and rott. If the rust has already started you will need to treat the metal with a Rust stopping treatment before you spray with your undercoating. Just trying to help you out and hope you ride safe and of course enjoy your MX lifestyle!

Have 2 love them but the longevity sucks. After a couple years they started crumbling. Red hardware store cans last longer.

Those red cans do last FOREVER! But I’ve had no issues with mine so far.

Absolutely loved these when bout and used HOWEVER after sitting few months the plastic caps (where hose screws in, sidewalls of cap separated from top !!) yes the cap broke off ALL OF THEM all 4 .. was NO pressure they just sitting there in garage …2/4 cans Nva even used !!!!! shame because liked cams besides crap quality of caps which is PRETTY DAM IMPORTANT PART lol only using pump gas also …all black parts crap total !!! Even spouts cracked where drew plug in … jug fine just all black parts SERIOUSLY FAULTY AND DANGEROUS !!

It is a really good jug with a great mounting solution however you didn't mention most states require red jugs for the transport of fuel. They will ticket you in my state if they see it.. and that's to bad because I like to take a quick glance at my jug to see how much fuel is in it without picking it up. With a red can you can't do that

Is the mounting bracket secure enough to hold full bottles on an open trailer for transport?
@fit4moto4 жыл бұрын
Yea definitely! As long as the screws have enough bite into the material, it's actually really secure. I was unsure how it would hold up in my van, but after months now and lots of big bumps and moving around, the bracket still holds a full jug completely secure. If it's on an open trailer I would just add a screw or two to the mounting bracket and the lock or a latch to the spot dedicated to it. That way it cant pop out over a big bump (not that it would but you never know). I hope that helps :) Mitch

Just for confirmation the gas can holders will hold a full can even on the worst trailer on a bad dirt road.

Does this container half markings on it for gallons content?
@fit4moto3 жыл бұрын
No they don't really have much for markings on them. You can get them in either 3mor 5 gallon sizes, but there aren't any markings to show how much fuel is in it.

Easy fix, go to the gas station with a sharpie and fill at whatever increment you want markings at, then mark the levels yourself. Not ideal, but also not a deal breaker

Was just checking the website out on these and it states it's not for portable fuel storage. Can anybody shed some light on this. I understand there is certain regulations on cans but would love to buy several of these but not worth the risk for getting epa all wound up!
@fit4moto3 жыл бұрын
I might be able to help you out! Do you mean like long term storage? The company is really good at getting back to customers with any questions, if you reach out to them, I'm sure they will reply right away.
@ffdoingwork78453 жыл бұрын
@@fit4moto thanks for the reply, on the website it's called a utility can and that not intended for fuel due to not having an atsm rating(something like that). I wanted to purchase several for a landscape company.
@MrSGL213 жыл бұрын
@@ffdoingwork7845 because it doesn't have a CARD compliant spout means it can't be sold as a gas can. i have several chinese made "oil cans" that look like nato and 1950s era gas cans. they hold gas just fine.
@rsilvers1292 жыл бұрын
They can’t say it is for fuel because then it would need a CARB compliment spout. It is of course for fuel but they can’t say so.
@TrollinCrazyRussian2 жыл бұрын
Jesus! Dude! You are using VP racing gas can backward the handle is for moving it around mainly. When you pour it dont use it like watering can. Pour it like engine oil sprout side on topside when pouring so the oil doesn't dribble down on outside of bottle. Do same for the VP racing can can but put thumb of your hand through the handle instead of fingers, squat enough that you can guide tip of hose on top into empty tank before fuel come out and then stand up and tilt VP racing can fully inverted and then now open vent cap ALMOST all the way but not completely off.
@kevinhlavati62859 ай бұрын
Please... vp cans are junk and you have no idea what your talking about. I can't believe you don't know how to use a gas can
@TrollinCrazyRussian9 ай бұрын
@@kevinhlavati6285 It's other way around. You are stupid one here. You need to have handle underneath the sprout then open vent only after gas start coming out just before it start to gurgle. This is higher skill required for more applications where you would leak or drop zero fuel outside of the gas fill port unless you failed to close vent cap just before gas level reach it when inverted. Otherwise if you use it like watering can you might need to bent sprout too much or have gas coming out of sprout before you made it into the gas fill hole. If you pour oil bottle sprout first you would have it dribble alongside the bottle but if you pour it inverted it will not dribble. It's why oil bottle don't have its sprout centered. It's why the Vp can have sprout on side of the can instead of middle. Come on think about it. Try it.
@TrollinCrazyRussian8 ай бұрын
It's other way around. You... Go ask any mechanic how do they pour a pint bottle of oil. Once you see the principle behind it you will understand and apply to Vp can. If there is any hope for you.
