The River District

The Charlotte Chamber’s First Quarter Economic Growth Breakfast was held March 14 at Partners in Thinc. Attendees got an exclusive look at the latest developments for the River District. Tracy Dodson of Lincoln Harris and Brian Leary of Crescent Communities outlined plans for the development and fielded questions from the audience. If all goes as planned, construction would begin in 2018 with the first occupied housing units by 2019 and the first office buildings in 2020.

Have you considered the people who are living in this area and have for generations? Do you know how much traffic is already among those roads? It can not support that type of development and is displacing tons of wildlife. Is it better to build build build in the interest of financial gain instead of preserve and protect natural land? When we have less and les of that. That is what we need. More dedicated outdoor space. Not more apartments and development. Think of the Earth, environemental repercussions, and the harm you are causing to local residents. That space would be better preserved, since it is one of the last that you mentioned. Please consider this and put the overall well being of our Earth (which is a limited resource) and those families who call this area home.
