Many years ago we’d be dropped off by Parker dam, and float down the river in an inner tubes tied together. Back then, we’d tie a couple six packs to the side of our floaters, it’d keep the brewskis nice and cool. That was to good ol days, not sure you can do it now with all the water crafts out there. Also, what was cool is we’d float right to our camp spot. Must of been at 20 or so miles. Good Times.

On the upstream part, you'll probably want to go back and trim some of the low-lying branches, move a couple of rocks that would make it easier, and make waterproof map copies to guide each party, especially telling them go left or go right at each divide. As I mentioned before, when water is really low or dry, you want to dig some deep holes in your part of the river bed that will give the fish cooler spaces to chill and be safe until your hooks and lures hit the water.

There's nothing like floating/kyaking down these rivers. I grew up on the Frio and used to kayak from my grandmother's to Garner all the time. 5 mile trip. Any chance to open the Desperado to day kayaking? Make an area for camping with a food truck. That way people could come during the day and float/kayak the river. You could also advertise floating photographic tours just after flood events while the river's still high enough for kayaking. Keen nature and wildlife photographers would love a gentle paddle down towards the resort, kayaks, life jackets, and lunch included, of course. To raise a bit of cash towards the ongoing rebuilding and restoration, why not take a kayak along the same course, photograph the best views, and sell the prints, either framed or unframed. Printing your own isn't difficult and once you master the digital photographic software and how it can be paired with Microsoft Publisher for example, you can create a whole range of effects and sizings. I did this for myself to great effect. I quite literally saved over £2,000 by doing it myself.

hey for the kayak trip to the gulf I'd suggest getting a canoe and attach a cover so you can use it as a 'pack mule' with needed gear. just an idea.

Loved this episode! I’m a river rat at heart, stuck in West Texas! I cannot wait to come visit the resort, float, and enjoy my favorite place on earth…the Guadalupe River! Oh, and if Jenna needs any help chaos coordinating, I’m absolutely y’alls girl! 😂

You know, once upon a time the Ohio River was described as one of the most beautiful rivers in the world with it's clear water.... I wouldn't swim in it today, that's for sure. 200 years ago, probably. 😂

It’s always dirty. After a flood it’s extra dirty. Rivers are generally clearer further north in the US. All the dirt from up north gets washed south.

I miss floating the Guadalupe! I've been floating it since I was 11 months old! The river and Schlitterbahn, best part of every summer growing up!

Haven’t been on a float trip in decades. I used to take my daughter a couple times a year. Mostly down the Illinois river near Taliquah OK but a couple times we went down the Guadalupe. Some of our best memories are of avoiding tree falls and getting showered by spiders from the overhanging trees.

There is one already that Mere started the day after the first Desperado vid came out. Mere's Wineatorium, featuring curated selections of boxed wine, included are wine glass tossing classes:) I'm really really worried about her liver now.
