Right on. We take all the movie making technology for granted nowadays. Importunately the technology has outrun the talent and creativity in many cases.

One certainly cannot accuse Orson Wells of not making the most out of the opportunity to establish a name for himself. Had he not, its likely we'd have heard of him.

"Kane" remains at, or near the top of most 'greatest films of all time' lists. "It's All True" should have never been started. At least without a treatment and a basic story and script. It was doomed. Welles was in over his head, and RKO took advantage by butchering "Ambersons", which Welles should have waited on until Gregg Toland was available. The only thing larger than his genius was his ego, which did him in in Hollywood. Paramount, years later, released what little remained of "It's All True".

Welles exaggerated the impact of his dismissal from RKO. He continued to work in Hollywood on and off for decades. Ultimately, he screwed himself over because he resented the fact that he had to answer to someone.

8:00 more should have been said about the men on a raft. there was an accident and one of the men drowned. i would have liked to learned the circumstances. did welles send them out into choppy water? why couldn't they have saved the man? welles was noted for being reckless.

*I have a Sociological perspective/theory on this story:* Now this documentary begins with a recounting of Orson Well's works, demonstrating his "Artistry", "Creativity", and "abilities to selects the same within the Film Industry". *It then noticeably shifts to the Intense Era of the Japanese strike upon Pearl Harbor and the USA finding itself part of the "State of Aggressions of WWII" with a very clear statement @ **14:33** *that Orson Well's was selected by Nelson Rockefeller and John Hay Whitney, to make an immediate departure, "sent on a bizarre Good Will Mission, To counteract the spread of Fascism. (a PR Effort) mission to South America under the auspice of Filming.* This is apparent in what wasn't known then, but is now, that there was a relationship between various countries in South America, particularly Argentina with Germany, Hitler, the Nazi's. Possibly more that we aren't aware of, because there was a limited early CIA type organization, and at the time, the CIA was yet to be established by Prescott Bush. Clearly "film footage of various places and people were an interest, and of course the Individuals at RKO, and staff other than Orson Well's would not be "in the true know" of the efforts the Gov obviously asked Orson to pursue. Clearly there were a number of individuals that were in need of "Management", as their personal ego's were obvious by their actions, in need of "drama". The behaviors of "1" presented Traits (Gaslighting) associated with the "Covert, Narcissist Personally Disorder/NPD" ... and then this stimulated additional Ego's at RKO, etc. To the South American Officials, it merely was an appearance of a "irresponsible Artist Film Producer in a cluster of events" *(yet that couldn't please the Gov more as it would have cloaked any real points the Gov may have been interested, while not being of any real threat to discovery, Artists being such Liberal sorts").* I would put money on this theory. Orson, obviously sworn to secrecy. It apparently didn't seem to overly upset Orson, although the little guy that was writing to everyone and Gaslighting Orson, and others likely, would possibly get his arse' whipped when they returned to the USA. I can imagine Orson and his BFF's ie Agnes Morehead, Joseph Cotton, etc, had to have peppered him at some point. Those were some creative, individuals, (lol, I would not want them po at me in Hollywood town). Amazing that this story ever got on film, some 45 years later. Odd. And in need of remedial English. Try to learn to write a coherent sentence. And by the way, the plural in English is indicated by adding an s. Therefore, more than one Nazi are Nazis. No apostrophe, a punctuation mark used to indicate possession.

Yes, well, a “sociologist, behavioralist and historian” in need of remedial English. Try to learn to write a coherent sentence. And, in English, the plural is indicated by adding an s. Thus, more than one Nazi are Nazis. One does not use an apostrophe, a punctuation mark used to indicate possession.

A ridiculous documentary, in how it's been made. The sound does not match the footage and that the people on-screen aren't the people we are hearing! I clearly recognise the clips from "The Magnificent Ambersons," so why can't I actually see them??

The Radio Show was not a series, it was a 1 Story and it was so well performed, with current era depictions that made it sound like a "covering an event live". If they tuned in after the show begin, and it didn't have Commercial Interruptions, it most definitely could have spooked countless. There were various fears in the Public's mind, easy to build the momentum.

@@seanohare5488 I'm curious where this notion got started, heard it before, but it isn't accurate. *"Hitler was very interested in and had his Physicists and Scientists actually working on antigravity propulsion", this was confirmed by the German Scientists that came to the USA during/after the War. The Germans have a varied propagandized History in the USA, we didn't give them highlights on "What the Germans Accomplished in Science and Technology, that was Superior to the USA", and they had several. They were really focused on Advanced Technologies, and they obviously had some idea of Space Vehicle Design, because we found the actual Saucers that they designed and we had the drawings the Scientists, Engineers, had been working on. Further they had designed and perfected the Submarines, transverse the world and to the Poles in them, even were often seen off Coast Florida. It requires all the Allies to curb their aggressions and stop the war, we didn't fully beat them. That was proven post war when we went to Antarctica to confront their remaining forces. See: Operation High Jump under, Admiral Byrd (a true American Hero figure). The subject is fact, with documented reports and records, in multiple venues including, South American Newspapers. The US Pentagon released Navy Pilots speaking of a UFO, last year. Disclosure has been slow, the government has known since Roswell, and that was finally acknowledged. I find it interesting how some embrace him, obviously accepting his behaviors and traits, while others recognize the behaviors and traits as "other than reasonable Mature Minded", and then others further are able to understand them as traits of Narcissist Personally Disorder/NPD. These 3 groups have my interest as a Sociologist/Behavioralist, and I would very much like to do a study on the "Interpreting Human Behavior and *The Varied Conceptions"* He actually meets all of the trait points for diagnosis (that's a strong case) as Narcissist Personally Disorder/NPD, a diagnosis best reached through observing (Social, Family, and Work Interactions) and he has years of footage. An appointment in the office would just result in additional observation of what's already identifiable. There are varying types, his is Overt, Clinical, the true NPD. This is not a judging of the man, rather a defining of behaviors, which I'm trained in. There's little that can be corrected after the individual is 12 - 18, and those that are attempted have better successes when they are children presenting with Oppositional Defiant Disorder or Conduct Disorder, or even later if the patient is on a lower spectrum and actually wants to correct the traits, rare but occasional cases Beth Bartlett Sociologist/Behavioralist and Historian
