Can the families that aren't able to afford vitamin A diet, be able to afford expensive Golden rice? Can the governments that aren't able to afford PDS, be able to afford subsidizing the Golden Rice? Can it be a feasible business for corporates? Only a powerful lobby can bring a solution.. We need to sponsor a powerful political party for a legal amendment to make the golden rice compulsory... Nutrition cess should be introduced on purchasing any article to compensate the subsidy for the rice..

These GMO products are being promoted by a lot of western countries primarily the US. Like Monsanto now owned by Bayer who introduced " miracle rice" but these rice varieties needs a lot of fertilizer and pesticides that Bayer manufactures. Aside from that fact that seeds supply are controlled by suppliers with the harvested rice not suitable for seeds. That is why EU and a lot of other countries are against GMOs. Only the US pressuring other countries to plant GMO rice,corn, soya beans and other agricultural products.
