Know Before You Go - This is dash cam video of the road to Peek A Boo Slot Canyon in Kanab Utah. The drive is hard in a 4x4 because of the depth of the sand and the wash boards in the sand. Good luck...there are guided tours out of Kanab or take an ATV tour. Enjoy this amazing slot canyon. Their is a alternate route coming out that takes a left at a fork around a big tree that 29:10 that is a little easier way to get out. And avoids the hill at the end were some folks get stuck.

You can play this at a faster speed - this is just to give you the full experience in case you want to try it. I recommend you air down and have 4x4 - it’s not too bad but I have pulled people out - turn off traction control that alone will get you stuck - this video is of a full size Ram 2500 Power Wagon - good luck and have fun. The slot is well worth the effort or just one of the guides in Kanab.

how do you think a Toyota Tacoma TRD off Road with a 12 inch runner board clearance would do? and should we deflate to 25 PSI?

To view at faster speed click on the video and select the three dots and a drop down will open and scroll down to video play back speed and select the speed that works for you.

I'm confused by the end of the video. At the end of the drive, is the vehicle in the parking lot for Peek-A-Boo canyon? In the last minute or two of the video, the vehicle drives a very short distance and is then on a standard paved road. Why wouldn't you just turn off the standard road and into the parking lot, avoiding the long trip over the sand? I must be missing something.

Really helpful to see this, thank you for posting it. Do you think a Mercedes GLE350 4Matic (all-wheel-drive) could make it? We plan to deflate tires and drive carefully, ground clearance is 8 inches - not sure if that's enough? Hard to tell how deep the sand is on the video, but it seems (just) manageable?

I don’t think so but it all depends on the weather. The sand can get over a foot deep if it’s hot and dry…but if it’s wet it’s easy. And it’s VERY expensive to get towed and make sure you have your tow hooks handy.

@@RDP777 Thanks, yeah, we decided not to risk it in the end - but am looking into a Wrangler Sahara for our next car and will go back if I get it :)

Thanks for this. I have a stock 150 with a rear locker and AT tires that I will be towing a travel trailer with. Was thinking of unhooking the trailer and driving in. I have alot of experience driving off road (been "Jeeping" for years). Would this be wise? Id have a tow rope and traction boards just in case.

Hi Andy it its rained you should be find…if its in the middle of hot dry summer and the sand is super deep its a 50/50 perhaps if you air way down to 10psi. I have seen good 4x4’s buried to the frame but I have also seen Escalades there too…it all depends on the sand. Good luck its worth the effort. There is a lot of ATV traffic so if you need to get towed there are lots of help. Enjoy

@@andys5775 Give it a shot…September is at the tail end of monsoon season…just watch for flash floods. I have been lots of times and no problems…but I do have 37” Tires and 4x4 and front and rear lockers…and i did get stuck once pulling someone out…buried to the frame, going up hill. There is a short cut coming back so you don’t have to go up that hill and that makes it way easier. Just take a left at the big tree, you will see tracks. There is so much traffic no one is stuck for long….go for it!!!

Can you camp at the parking lot at the end?

Probably not a good idea its in a canyon and it can flood there...and there is no fast way to get out you have to drive down the canyon to get out. There is lots of camping near by though...enjoy.
