The Roald Dahl controversy - literary censorship and political correctness 📚

The choice of the English publisher to rewrite some parts of Roald Dahl's books causes discussion: is it right to replace the adjectives "ugly", "fat" and "black" with softer expressions or to revise entire periods in the name of inclusion? Is it really necessary to modify a literary work so that it is accepted by today's young (and not so young) readers? Wouldn't it be better to have the appropriate cultural tools to know how to place the work in the right historical and social perspective? Once again the theme of "cancel culture" forces us to reflect on the type of society we want to build and the type of generations we want to form...
