I don't buy that the year-long story between Rock and Roman is next when they have in Cody the hottest face (on the babyface side) of the company. Making him wait another year is brutal and it would be foolish to repeat another building for a guy who has already been given two Royal Rumbles. In my opinion WM 40 has to leave quarrels between Roman and Rock so that it simply happens the following year without a title. That family rivalry doesn't need it.

If there's a chance that Dueywayne Johnson is committed to telling some long-term storyline, Mondays and Fridays at the arenas, on the television that go beyond WM weekend, then they have a Golden Goose for contextual storytelling that will be very compelling. The 2 biggest Alpha Male WWE superstars in the same faction who both think they are The Tribal Chief? One of them thinks having the title means it makes him head of the table, the other knows the belt is just a trinket that gets passed around that gives individuals a sense of (false) power. Let them both start trying to "call the shots" and let's see if Roman's been using all of his time away utilizing some acting classes. I liked his foreshadowing of everything they say, everything they do has meaning, and to pay close attention. The top layer was to be interpreted as within the Somoan culture, while the underlying meaning, a window to the past, so-to-speak, is everything The Rock wore, all of the insults he threw to the crowd, all of the throwbacks to The NOD when Rocky started exerting his alpha-ness around the group and went toe to toe with Simmons. Watch the storyline unfold as either Rock and Roman's egos implode the Bloodline, or Solo starts breaking out. Either way the story they can tell creating friction between Rock and Roman, will turn 1 or more members babyface. Going to be interesting which way the crybaby fans go and how they react.

You can tell a bloodline story, put the title on cody and have a good WHC chase out there too. They need to keep all those things somewhat separate and they can really maximize story and money. You risk burying cody if he doesn't win. And while IDC for it the bloodline, it doesn't need a title to be a top story.

What I liked: 1- Rock turning heel (best decision this whole story so far), and yes I agree this is not Hollywood Rock, this is a new version of Villain Rock 2- Rock clearly saying he will do everything possible to stop Cody from winning means that this will make Cody look like more of an underdog, which is always good for the overall storyline 3- Cody vs Roman at Mania is now confirmed more than ever. Cody will have his match, the only question now is what will the Bloodline do to make his quest much more difficult than before? 4- Rock's promo was great because, in essence, he meant most of it. Trailer park trash jabs aside, I have no doubt that he truly believes that Roman vs himself would have been the greatest WrestleMania main event of all time. He already had a plan of how that would pan out, and he does feel that the WWE fans betrayed him, for lack of a better word, in favor of Cody whose story, in Rock's perspective, doesn't hold a candle to the Bloodline's. When he said that the fans "dumped that into the toilet" he meant it. He wanted that match so bad, and now there's a legitimate chance we might never ever get it (should have happened sooner in my book, but that's a different discussion) What I didn't like: 1- Rock's promo aside, what did yesterday's SmackDown truly accomplish? We knew since the press conference that Rock is now officially heel. Did we really expect him to slap Cody and side with Roman only to still be a babyface? Yesterday's Bloodline segment didn't really do much for me 2- The buildup is way too slow at this stage. I get that WWE likes to do that for certain storylines, and people will be invested in WrestleMania no matter what, but I just want things to be clearer sooner rather than later. Are we getting a tag match? Why did Cody say "not at this WrestleMania" and then back-tracked? Does Rock still want to face Roman? is Triple H going to be involved more in the storyline? If we don't get clear answers to all of those within the next 10 days, it would be a misstep by WWE (again, I'll be invested either way because this is the hottest story in Wrestling today by far, even if it's not perfect)

I think Roman v Rock Wrestlemania 41 works best with a heel Rock. The only problem with that is this version of the Rock is the version that fans fell in love with. Even on Friday the crowd was back and forth. So it will be interesting to see if they keep him heel or if Rock screws Roman at mania and costs him the title and is back to being a babyface.

When Rock said "We are going to make sure you walk out of WrestleMania a loser", who was he pointing at? Why did the camera change to that particular perspective at that instant? I feel like there's something very thinly veiled here, and it all makes sense when you pay attention to the details. Roman said it himself: "Everything we say has meaning and purpose and information that you need to understand", and I feel like that's going to be the most ironic quote from tonight, if they're going the direction I think they're going.

Roman has already started playing second fiddle to the Rock during the WrestleMania kickoff event and SmackDown. I would not be surprised if Cody wins at WrestleMania XL and the Rock outcasts Roman immediately for disappointing the family. A Roman brutal beatdown to close WrestleMania XL would do multiple things: Fulfill Cody's prophecy of "Taking everything away from Roman", kickstart Roman's face turn and setup a Roman vs Rock/The Bloodline Program later this year after Roman returns from his time off.

I think that they’ll have a tag team match as the first night main event. Rock and Reigns vs Seth and Cody to decide who faces Reigns in night two. Cody and Seth win with some friction between the Bloodline during the match, and Rock interferes in night two to help Cody win.

The story for Rock vs Roman does not need the belt to be a rich and engaging year long build. Both rosters need a full time working champion, though.

The Rock pointed at Roman and said he's gonna do everything in his power to make sure he doesn't leave Mania as champion. Then, he commences to throw up an "L," as in "loser," instead of The Bloodline's 1. We'll get Rock/Roman at WM41. EVERYTHING counts...including camera angles.

Need your opinion here, Sam. So do you think if WWE decided to do the tag match with The Rock/Roman vs Seth/Cody at Elimination Chamber and have Seth turn on Cody somehow, the motive is sketchy but do you think if Seth, actually yeah, what if Seth tries to injure Cody after the match, because he wants to be the main event in a title vs title match with Roman at mania, and Roman and the Rock made an agreement with Seth that if he turns on Cody during the tag match. He gets the match at mania if he can injure Cody so he can’t compete. Could they get enough heat on Seth to have him vs Cody and still get to Roman vs Rock at mania. Have every segment start having Roman say he’s the tribal chief and head of the table, and eventually it leads to confrontation before mania with the Rock not acknowledging Roman. Creative has been killing it lately. They could pull it off!

I like your fantasy booking with this Rock and Roman story but I'm sorry you can't turn Roman babyface if he's still champion. Until he loses that belt he's the Tribal Chief that has spent four years screwing every challenger out of winning that belt. Once he loses I agree a face turn works and could be brilliant.

I appreciate this channel’s perspective here, glad it’s just not another IWC KZbinr glazing Corny Rhodes; “Derp Cody story, waaah waaah derp”😂 As if you can’t be a fan of a heel faction nowadays, the bloodline story is much more layered and interesting than Rhodes winning the title then starting some boring forced feud with Sami Zayn or Randy Orton or whoever, WWE is so babyface heavy right now with their top guys, they have nowhere to go but to make up some reason for them to have beef in order to create future feuds with each other

The only problem I have with your preferred theory is that the disdain would actually be deeper from Rock if despite him putting everything in place to allow Roman to win, Roman still fails and Cody beats him. I dont see why Roman needs to hang on to the title if they want to go down that route. If anything it has more mileage if the Undisputed Title is no longer in the Bloodline. Plus I think Roman will actually be the one turning face when the time comes for him and Rock to have a parting of the ways. Ironically by Rock doing the same thing to Roman, that Roman did to Jey. Leading to a redemption arc for Roman culminating at WM 41.
