Between his divorce and being traumatized by a former Hollywood Former Press Association president, he's been through hell didn't want to be in anything until Doom Patrol came around where he was beginning to feel ready to try the filmmaking business again. First of all, none of you fools in the comments know if the rock turned his back on Brendan or not no one knows what happened behind the scenes for all we know maybe the rock has been there all the time Brendan once in a very bad relationship, going through a very bad divorce, she was taking him for everything he had. It was all so sad that some producer or someone had made certain sexual advances against Brendan so he was going through a lot and he starts drinking really bad a lot of times and people are going to really hard times like that you have to step back and let them sort out their own lives and that’s probably what happened with Brandon now he’s back and I’m so glad to see his back. Fraser proved that he didn’t need his help, rather he wanted to prove his worth and potential than get a piggy back. Aronofsky took Fraser up on the challenge, and Fraser proved he had it in him to get to where he is. Y'all spun your own narrative about what happened to brendan. You all assumed his ex is evil and ruined him. He has only nice things to say about her. Brendan himself doesn't understand why everyone thinks he's "back"; he's essentially said "I never went anywhere". No one is popular forever, it's comes and goes. Brendan continued to have projects released almost every year, with the biggest gap being like 2-3 years. And everyone assumed bc he gained a lot of weight that he was struggling; turns out he just gained weight for his role in The Whale. Yall are truly delusional. The Rock has no control over whether Brendan is on everyone's mind or not, or what jobs he gets. Brendan also had an internal struggle after the gr*ping incident, and he himself says he didn't feel blacklisted (although the situation was not handled properly and no one tried to help him). And after suffering injuries, he had to step back from the action roles that he was becoming most known for. That's what caused the shift.
