From the archives: Brendan Fraser discusses "The Mummy," other notable movie roles in 1999 interview

Brendan Fraser has received his first Oscar nomination in 2023 for Best Actor for his role in the psychological drama “The Whale,” directed by Darren Aronofsky. Fraser has starred in more than 50 films, with his start being in the 1991 film “Dogfight.” On May 7, 1999, “CBS This Morning” anchor Mark McEwen sat down with Fraser to talk about some of his movies to date and how he wanted to be remembered as an actor.

What is not to love about Brendan Fraser? He's just a nice guy. I so hope he wins the Oscar. His performance in "The Whale" is perfection. I think he should have been nominated for the Academy Award for "School Ties" and "God's and Monsters". "Encino Man" is one of my favourites and it still holds up. His timing in it is brilliant. He is amazing in his current work such as "Trust" and "Doom Patrol". He was voted most promising actor for "School Ties" and "Encino Man" back in 1992. Brendan Fraser lived up to that promise a long time ago. And he is still showing us his versatility as an actor. He is still the whole package. ❤️

He was never blacklisted (look at his IMDb). He's been uninsurable since 2009 because of untreated schizophrenia, drinking and cocaine use. A pinch on the a** is not sexual assault. They were standing up, wearing suits in the lobby, after a luncheon, talking to other people! HE caused the divorce by being unfaithful and then HE divorced her when she wouldn't take him back!

I heard It's because of trauma, but i'm not sure. I think Brad Pitt is older than him, but Brad takes care of himself. When a person don't take care of itself, this can happen, ya know?
