Being a hospice Chaplain myself I can tell you after listening to this lady she is special and I am sure her patient's love her.

I would also ask Ms. Norwood about her experience as a BLACK woman. She's not just a woman. Black women have different experiences because we are Black. White women's experiences will be different from those of Black women. It would be a plus to have dealt with this intersectionality. Social location is important and should not be ignored because connections can be made with patients because of their ability to relate to a person's particularity. This includes race and ethnicity.

I also explain that a Hospice Chaplain/Spiritual Caregiver is "Like an extra layer of support. I don't, nor do I want, to replace anyone's religious leader."

When i was on hospice last July, the lady they used as a chaplain was of no help. I fear death and she didn't help. Took myself off hospice after 6 week's.

Please what type of schooling is needed to be a chaplain for hospice?
@howfararewenow1683 Жыл бұрын
Most require an MDiv degree from a seminary, 1 unit of CPE (500 hours) ordainment and endorsement from a religious body. A good idea is to shadow a chaplain in either a hospital or with hospice.

They should have a chance for salvation with Jesus Christ before they die. Spirituality won't save their souls in the end.

The patient has to be open to receive salvation. Not everyone is a Christian. What makes you think that wasn't discussed?
