does encap hydrox bleech black carpets?

Thank you for the question. Encap-HydrOx won't “bleach” a carpet. However if the dye is not stable there could be a slight color reduction from hydrogen peroxide if there are unstable dyes. However with most “synthetic” carpets (such as nylon and olefin/polypropylene) there are stable dyes, so that's not going to occur. Also, the encapsulation polymer in Encap-HydrOx is extremely white, so it's possible to leave a white-ish hue that could possibly be show up on a dark color like black. But that’s simply the polymer, so it won’t impart any permanent colorization. To play it safe though, it's always wise to do a test in an inconspicuous area before cleaning (as with any cleaning product) to make sure it will look OK on a black carpet.

All of the Releasit detergents are formulated Crystalon encapsulation polymer. These Releasit detergents encapsulate the soil and dry down to a brittle structure that fractures away from the fiber. They also resist re-soiling. The normal routine of post-vacuuming will continue to recover the encapsulated soil.

Urine yes. Cat urine? Perhaps not. Cat urine has a unique characteristic / it has an additional stink component (similar to a skunk). Cat urine goes beyond dog or human urine. So using a strong dedicated odor product such as Odorcide may be required for cat urine. In fact, using Encap-HydrOx to remove the stain - along with Odorcide for the odor, may be helpful for all types of urine.

Not recommended. As mentioned in the video, if you had sufficient hydrogen peroxide to be effective, it would damage the crystallizing encap polymer. That's why we formulated Encap-HydrOx with a unique hydrogen peroxide stable polymer. It's a different polymer than we have in any of our other products. A normal encap polymer could not withstand such a high concentration of hydrogen peroxide.

Great stuff! I've got ds2 and hydrox. How well does hydrox work with automotive carpet/upholstery extraction? Used out of a small pump sprayer and agitating with a drill brush. Mixture ratio maybe 1:10. Thank you sir! Love the products for our detailing business. 💯👍 Mccarter Auto Detailing

Yes, Encap-HydrOx will work well on the types of soil you get in a car (particularly organic-based soils). Encap-Clean DS2 will also power through heavy soil loads nicely. Thanks for the feedback / we're happy to hear the products are helping you in your detailing business!

Hello, so would I use this on a very dirty greasy chinese food restaurant carpet

Encap-HydrOx is not as capable on mounds of HEAVY grease like you are describing. For heavy grease we recommend pre-treating the carpet with Encap-Punch as a pre-spray. Allow 5 minutes of dwell time. Then scrub the carpet with Encap-Clean DS2 at a stronger than normal dilution at 6 oz per gallon mixed with hot water. And if you're able to use bonnets on the carpet to pull additional soil, be prepared to use multiple bonnets. Hot water extraction may be necessary for totally pigged out carpets in order to get them under control prior to encap cleaning. But some pretty remarkable results have been achieved with encap as a standalone method.
