The Role of MRI in Diagnosing Osteomyelitis

Thank you for this post. I am a patient with an osteomyelitis diagnosis in the index finger after surgical repair of a closed spiral fracture. I had an MRI ahead of each of two surgeries. This posting helps me, a lay person, better understand and communicate with my treating physicians. Thank you.

Was diagnosed with a jaw infection after a MRI showed bone Adema. Was on IV vancomycin for six weeks. But follow up scan was a CT scan. Still do not feel better but I cannot get another MRI

After ostiomalitis diagnoses 4 yrs ago I showed this video to hospital doctor that wanted to amputate, I refused amputation, he refused to set my broken ankle and foot and my ankle healed rolled outwards, now I have repeated wounds. Now I can't find a doctor to correct it.

This was very helpful, I do wonder regarding chronic/deep ulcerations slow/stalled healing of said ulcerations - do they have to be at the precise spot of the osteomyelitis (ie. great toe) or can the be in the general area (ie. foot ) ? Thank you, David

thank u just Tuesday I was told I have osteomilitis in my hip I haven't done an MRI done some exray and they show nothing....what the next step I should take I'm a paraplegic t5 t6 spinal compression..
