Thank you for all you share with us! I do have students who struggle with reading and I’m trying to find one way that I can stick with till they learn how to read.

I see so many students that struggle with reading and comprehension…I was extremely shocked with how many children in our school struggle with reading…I’m in Special Education;however, the numbers have increased drastically and I’m also seeing this with General Ed. students.

Have you worked with students who don’t seem to be getting the hang of reading? Type “yes” in the comments if you’ve experienced this.

I’m noticing my K student has some speech issues that impact his phonics and phonemic awareness (thinks a word sounds like it starts with /w/ but it really starts with /r/ or another example would be /s/ versus /sh/ etc). Do you have a video that touches on this by chance?

This is a GREAT question! I don't have a particular video yet (it's on my list of future topic ideas though!), but I would say model, model model with your own mouth shape.

@@learningattheprimarypond thank you- I am modeling w my mouth, using a mirror, and doing minimal pairs I could find for free on a speech site. I’ll watch for any future releases around this! Have a blessed day :)
