Watching the video at 2x speed was probably a mistake, but boy oh boy did he say a lot! And none of it was unimportant when considering the topic. But that's how someone who reports directly from the battlefield speaks. I would never have thought that so many topics related to virtual productions are not yet fully resolved and that the whole thing still seems to be in its infancy. And that even though the technology at least sounds so mature and sophisticated in the advertising clips about virtual productions. I have never heard of this 2110 standard before, nor that IP video is a thing. But I completely agree that if all the hurdles that still exist in this environment today are taken (I would never have thought that timing a flash with video walls is so difficult, but here you also come into the physical limits of the involved technologies), then this could really be a real Eureka moment for us "ordinary" consumers. Really good presentation, highly recommended and above all a must if you are going into this field yourself or at least plan to. Kris Murray seems to be a driving force and competent contact person in this area!
