Actually that stuff about Peter turning into the lizard in her universe WAS in Spiderverse. It’s in her comic flashback of alright let’s do this one last time. You see her kick a lizard that turns back into a person in the shadows, then it cuts to a slightly scaly Peter Parker as she laments she couldn’t save her best friend and now she doesn’t do friends anymore. It’s in the span of like 10 seconds.

Also in regards to batman and batgirl having a romantic relationship… it does happen in some versions. However it also pretty much universally hated by fans when they do this due to significant difference in age and the fact that batman often first meets her anywhere between the ages of 13 and 18. Not to mention when they get romantically involved she is often the ex girlfriend of Batman’s adopted son (Robin). Essentially it’s just a very icky thing but it’s also something some writers (one in particular) likes to include.

It’s not the only comic I was assigned either, another assignment required me to read Watchmen. They were influential works and my professor was a big superhero fan.

About all that not being Spider-Verse... "I... couldn't save my best friend, Peter Parker..." The movie shows Gwen kicking the Lizard back into a human while she says that, before running up to hold the body. Yeah. This is her origin in Spider-Verse too.

So one thing that irritate me with death battle is when they show and talk about information from a specific comic and then get stuff from that comic wrong. In this one they talk about her making the suit to sneak into a Halloween costume gala. This is from batgirl year one. However what they get wrong is her making the suit due to being a fan of batman. This is incorrect. She wasn’t particularly a fan of batman. The actual reason she made her costume a bat suit was to spite her father. You see her dad forbade her from attending the police academy and becoming an officer. So her plan was to show up to the gala in a bat suit and show it to her dad as an “f u”. Before she had the chance killer moth attacked the gala and she fought him. She then encountered batman and Robin outside the gala and after batman told her to stop wearing the costume because she was in over her head she once again said “f u” and decided to keep being a vigilante. She continued to have an antagonistic relationship with batman throughout her first year on the job, but began to develop a friendship (later romance) with Robin. The hero she was actually a fan of was Black Canary. Anyway you also mentioned confusion over the mention of the bat family so I’ll explain. The bat family is the name given to the vigilantes directly connected to Batman and who work with batman in Gotham. There are numerous members but here’s some of the main ones. Robin, nightwing, oracle, red Robin, red hood, batgirl, spoiler, Batwoman, bat-wing, Azrael, Huntress and sometimes Catwoman depending on the time period. Characters like Alfred and Commissioner Gordon are also considered members of the bat family despite not being vigilantes due to their close relationship to batman.

A lot of people, myself included, really don't like this one. There's lot of terrible errors in the overall low quality fight. Also, the match-up is just... ...not great. They put who's basically Batman's lesser up against someone who could be considered Spider-Man's equal, and they long since figured out Spider Sense beats the Batfam.

The booster venom that you first thought about was from DC. Technically it’s not part of Marvel, but at the same time Marvel crossed over with DC several times in the comics. So Venom (the booster not the alien) could’ve at one point existed in the crossover.

People usually say that this is a bad episode is because it’s a super predictable fight and is basically just Batman Vs Spider-Man but they’re both girls. And also because the animation is super bad, like a lot of animation and model issues like wounds not showing up, the movements being super janky and stiff, among many others

Cindy Moon (well not that version.) is another spider person (again not the one who took gwen's powers. thats her universe's cindy moon). On the fathful day peter got bit from the radioactive spider....a classmate of his Cindy Moon too got bit...but for her safety was kept away in a bunker for years. told she'd destroy the world or something if freed. She got rescued by spiderman and she took up the mantle of Silk...rumored to be in new spiderverse movie

With this and the android 18 versus captain Marvel fight is so Obvious when death battle wants a character to lose they have the environment hurt them. At least with this fight it makes sense that a rock hitting batgirl would hurt batgirl but it does not make sense that a rock hitting android 18 would distract her let alone hurt her.
