The Roll-O-Matic

In this video I show the advantages of the John Deere exclusive "Roll-O-Matic", or ROM for short. The ROM was a device that allowed the front tires to have a sort of suspension. It allowed weight to be distributed to both wheels equally. This greatly reduced front end bounce and jarring on the steering wheel.
Springtime in a cattle feeding ground creates very rough terrain. The manure and straw insulate the snow, so the snow level drops around the manure and creates steep mounds of frozen ice and packed snow. It was bad enough that I was going to either get a tractor with a wide front end, or install the ROM on the A. Although the ROM is not as good as the wide front, it is much better than the traditional tricycle front end.
You'll also noticed the front wheels are "dished out". This increases the space between the wheels. This was for snow clearance, as well as reduces the chance of both wheels going over the same bump.
