This is the reason bootlegs exist... to hear Taylor kick ass in 10+ different versions of top Stones songs. I've posted the same thing in some other version of this Stones Masterpiece,,,, and this is the definitive version for me, Many have theirs,, but Mr Taylor reaches moksha, nirvana call it what you may -- he is in touch with something supernatural... too smooth too sublime too divine.

Very well said, haha. There are some great versions of this song from 72, but this one is my favorite. It's one of my favorite Taylor solos because it sounds so unbelievably fluid, like it's flowing out of him so naturally. He's a very lyrical player and this version shows that perfectly imo. The band as a whole is super tight as well, they haven't been this good since then. I'm glad you enjoyed it :)

@@LhDominator Iagree that all versions are amazing, but this London he really reached a level of flow-state, as it's called nowadays, that is just pure WILL... from around the fourth minute onwards, he sounds like he is channelling some higher WILL, in Spanishi ANIMO, ANIMA, ALMA, SOUL, PSYCHE... one of the purest and most magnificent manifestation of what the Human Soul is capable to produce... and appreciate. Music is a Divine gift... it's like an Easter-egg God created to help us transcend, and with the geniuses we were so lucky to be born to appreciate, like Mick Taylor and many others, Music's as a particularly effective form to rid one from the unbearable lightness of being... as Schopenhauer so well identified.

People like to rank performers. I'm sorry, there's a level where there isn't a 'best', but simply "masters". Mick Taylor resides with many others at that level. Rankings from 1-1,000,0000,000,000 become meaningless in the LISTENING. Just enjoy and cease comparing....
