Thanks for the first virtual video explaining & demonstrating the process of waste removal during the 1st century A.D. and the scale in which it became. Though off setting for our contemporary Western eyes, it was still eons better than Europe was to become centuries later. Also many other videos I've watched depict ancient Rome's remarkable achievements on Italian soil, rather than Greece under Roman culture and rule. Thumbs up!

Poor Sponge Bob
@velvetcroc98272 жыл бұрын
The sponges were used for removing stains in the latrines just like a modern toilet brush. People mostly didn't use anything to wipe their butts. Remember that the purpose of an underwear is to prevent traces of feces and urine from soiling your clothes.

I have never heard that explanation. Can you identify a source for it? Thanks.

Cover-up any unwanted sounds? How quaint! Its fine to to go #2 with a room full of others doing the same, however it was embarrassing to allow the other people to hear Zeus' thunder?

The Gospel of John says nothing of going to the John... so this is more useful than the Holy Bible.
