"The person who you think you might want to like you, probably day 2, you would pray that they stop liking you. Let it happen organically. Be who you are. That's the only thing you have that nobody else has, and somebody loves that. I was single for a while, and I was trying to figure out who I was, not trying to be fake or be something I wasn't, but I wasn't really comfortable with who I was. And so the relationships that I had...were fun and fine and great but they weren't lasting. And finally, I came to terms with who I am. And then I found somebody who dug it, and I dug her back."

The real romantic introvert's dilemma: You read books at home, by yourself. Alone, there is no one to meet.
@timogeerties34876 жыл бұрын
Basically Someone I'd meet at a club would most certainly be a person I can't associate with because I don't like crowded or loud spaces or to be around a bunch of people I don't know. I spend my free time mostly at home and don’t flirt at work because of the massive drawbacks and embarrassments a drama can cause (besides, that few girls my age already have someone). So it isn't very likely that some random introverted girl will suddenly ring my door bell.

I think the worst part of this all is when you become so fixated on a person that just happens to catch your attention, so you start to fantasize about them, to then you realize they are nothing like they way you made them out to be in your mind. In high school I sat next to this beautiful princess all year. I told myself everyday that I was gong to get the courage to talk to her, but never did; was just to self-conscious and afraid. 20 years later at our high school reunion I saw her and talked to her. She said she always liked me and wanted me to talk to her and couldn't understand why I never did. She then told me she was married and had two children. Introverts! your head is lying to you. Coming from prior experience and getting older...I think the true introvert's dilemma (really delusion) is that once we fixate on a "muse" and romanticize being with them, the very real possibility of it not working out turns into this world-crushing ordeal. I wish I could go back to myself or my friends when I was younger and just scream "Dude, just go for it! If she says no, it doesn't matter, it really doesn't! It's okay! She's really not the ONLY one for you and vice versa. You can have that happily ever after with any of over a million compatible ones, just freaking try!"

Exoniex Just don't overthink it. Best case scenario you interest her and the rest is possible from there. Worst case scenario it doesn't work out she's just another name and number in an endless line of attractive girls you will cross paths with in your lifetime. No matter how hard you think you're crushing on her you have to trust yourself that you are capable of and will feel just as strongly for another later on. In that light, you really have nothing to lose. Girls generally like guys with balls who know what they want and just come out and say it with a smile. Just also understand no means no. Good luck!

The worst part is that in real life the looks and gestures the two made to indicate they were interested in each other are carried out covertly to avoid any chance of the other person actually picking up on what you're feeling. For example, the look at 0:21 would take less than a quarter of a second--their eyes might meet, but would instantly part once contact was made. The result of this is that we all walk around pretending we're not interested when a lot of us deep down inside are yearning for a connection.

So I just immediately scratch my plan of talking to that person. I usually think that random people could think that I'm creepy or sth, idk. But I don't consider myself introverted. It don't find it hard to talk to random people, I just find it hard to talk to people about myself (especially people I like or I'm attracted to).

Chris Noble - - Ten years ago in my college Spanish class, the teacher gave us an assignment. Because there were more guys than girls, we had to split into teams of two guys and one girl. Each guy had to convince the girl to go on a date with him and not the other guy. As soon as i started talking to the beautiful brunette wearing a cute sundress and sandals, she gave me a disgusted look and immediately said "Um. I'd rather go with the other guy." The other guy didn't even have to say a word. It got really quiet and our "assignment" was done. Case closed. .... It was a stupid assignment and a horrible experience. I can't help but wonder where she is now, what she is doing, and what kind of person she is now. I wonder if she remembers saying that to me. I hope she has become a better person since then.

If you have time, read my boring story: Wow, this reminds me about a story of me it is different than this story. I went to the cinema 3 days a week and most of the times there was a really cute guy. I always looked forward to see him. Days passed by and I smiled at him and he smiled back. Days and days more we smiled at eachother. I started to get a crush on him. Then I saw him on a sunday on his freetime in the cinema wirh a girl and I assumed that she was his girlfriend.. I wanted to get him out of my head and it worked (kinda). But then on a Saturday he came to me and my friend and started a smalltalk. I still did not know his name etc. But since that talk everything started all over again. I liked him again. I needed to know if he had a girlfriend. So I started my talking session on Social Media and I found him (lucky me). On Facebook I found something about his relationship status: single. But I thought it was not recent enough. Everytime I saw him I fell in love with his smile. Then I thought yes I want to talk to him, but I knew that I was too afraid and scared for that. I told my friend and she was trying to push me, but it did not help. Then there was a light I thought: why not contact him on social media? I still did not dare to follow him or sent him a message. My friend did follow him for me and she followed him too (so that it was less awkward for me). After a few days I thought I want to sent him a message and I did it (it was the scared thing ever... I wrote my message 10000 times over and over again,. But I did it. But he did respond to me! He asked why I did not approached him at work and I told him because he was working. Then he asked me if I wanted to go to do something sometimes. I was so happy! Now we are going on a date on Saturday:). If you made it this far: thank you for reading my story to the end. You are amazing

@chips78 жыл бұрын
It is shyness. Wikipedia sais: "Some popular psychologists have characterized introverts as people whose energy tends to expand through reflection and dwindle during interaction...". This means: There are introverts who also like to get in contact. They just need time alone or with a few good friends, to get their energy back. But keep in mind. Most people are somewhere between introversion and extraversion.
@KimPossssible8 жыл бұрын
+chips7 Yeah exactly, but can't introverts still long for a romantic relationship? And yes, that's true that most people aren't strictly introverts or strictly extroverts
@dylanengo71526 жыл бұрын
Just have a life. Then you don’t need a boyfriend/girlfriend. And ironically, it makes you more attractive and interesting. Also, try not to fantasize about relationships that unless you nail that 1 in a million chance, you won’t exactly have. Just try to be present in your surroundings and see the world as it actually is and know what you can do. You can talk to someone, even if someone else walks up but you don’t care if they do. And if you don’t hold onto an idealized version of someone else in your head, it makes you see the reality of them and instead focus on what you CAN do. You can’t just assign your own personal value to a relationship that you fantasize about that just won’t happen because when something comes along the way, even if you do get in a relationship, you will have on blinders that make you ignore things like abandonment, the other person isn’t as serious about the relationship as you are, feeling rejected but not feeling like you can let the relationship go, fantasizing even more that you will somehow magically or heroically become soul mates when it won’t happen. That will mess you up, waste your time, and your energy. Talking from experience

This video is one of the truest things I've watched on KZbin. Ever. It's so painfully relatable. I've been clever and introverted like this my entire life, but I can never get the courage to talk to girls like that. I just lack the confidence. I don't like my body, and I don't like my personality, and I don't like my face, and I don't like my voice, I don't like anything. And I don't think anyone could ever like me in a romantic sense. I'm scared it'll never happen. Even though, I know subconsciously, that I'm really not *that* ugly. I'm not hideous. I'm really not. But I can't get the forefront of my mind to recognize that, and so I am just too afraid and ashamed. I don't even know why I'm typing this. It's not like it'll help. I suppose it just feels good to be able to "talk" about it, in a sense. It's nice to be able to voice my fears and my doubts. If you actually took the time to read this, thank you. Really, thank you.

No introversion was shown there. That's shyness. Introversion = not a big friends circle, not liking to be around crowds, but always able to talk to stranger people, making friends and having social skills. Shyness = not having social skills at all or at least having a really poor ability to talk to stranger people, getting nervous with only the thought of talking in front of people.

But most introverted people become what you call "just a shy person" because of factors affecting them... Most of the "introverted" people in the internet are actually introverts... Coupled with a heck ton of anxiety... So yes this video does not show introversion in the real introverted sense... But rather what most introverted people on the internet are... Introversion in the sense that, the introverts are anxious of what might happen(eg be rejected) and prepares a plan But then when the plan fails... They feel like a total idiot and just gets embarrassed like a lot
@krzysztofmaj19176 жыл бұрын
What is shown here is normal introverts hitting a barrier constructed from their worries. They may talk normally with all kinds of strangers, but the fact that the other person interests them more than others in their life incapacitates them. They can't make any move, they pass on every chance they get leaving with regrets and can't make up the courage to create the chance themselves and then use it. It has nothing to do with shyness. It's more of a psychosis/obsession created by surpressing the feeling of attraction to someone because of your comfort zone.

Gotta get creative. It'll still be weird and risky but fuck it. "Hey, who are you voting for?" Is sure to rile up a conversation. Whether it's good or bad depends on how you handle it from there haha. Making lighthearted jokes about the opposing candidate, telling them the crazy rumors you've heard. Just small talk on any current events or things in your immediate vicinity. Philosophical questions are always an option. I wouldn't mind if someone came up to me, introduced themselves, and started talking about the meaning of life with me lol.
@jensdanbolt69538 жыл бұрын
The stereotypical American way of approaching a girl with maximum confidence and immediately starting an interesting conversation isn't for everyone. I recommend instead to join clubs, charities, organizations where you will naturally be in close contact with both guys and girls. The introduction will run itself, and you'll get to know the people there and always have something to talk about, just make sure it's an organization you actually care about not just for the sake of the girls there. You don't even need to flirt, just climb the hierarchy ladder within the group, become the boss, grab them by the pussy and win the election!

I've actually thought that as an introvert, you should date an extravert, so you would get more out of your life. Thinking about this again, I actually think that dating an introvert (being an introvert yourself) might be better. You understand how you feel and you feel the same + you can try to motivate each other to get certain things done and can be open about why it is some sort of victory to do things you didn't dare to do before.
@SweetSerenadeXyWem8 жыл бұрын
Daniel W Could also be because you just have more extraverts in your direct surroundings (which has a big chance of happening since 30% of the population is introverted, or so some other video's say). Also you can just end up with people like that because your friends and you like the same things but might have a different point of view of how actively you participate (idk, sports or something). But yeah, for example, I like to be with my friends but I really need time alone once in a while because it's really energy draining. Do you think that not liking to go out (I mean like how some people party all night and drink a lot) has anything to do with being introverted? Or does that have to do with another part of your personality?
@SweetSerenadeXyWem8 жыл бұрын
Daniel W Well at least the idea of helping each other is nice. But how did you get so far in your life? I don't think you could stay in your comfort zone all the time.
@idreamtadreamlastnight8 жыл бұрын
I think it is good to have a balance in your life but then you date who ever you want, introvert or extravert! I don't have a romantic example but one with friendship. My best friend is an introvert and I am an extravert, we get along perfectly and it is good to be quite different because we can offer different points of view and we make each other get out of our zone of comfort (ie: I tell her to go speak to her crush and tell him her feelings and she usually suggests me to calm down and be more serious with life in general) It is great and we bring the best out of each other :) I have extravert friends, and together we just are always thinking the same way etc and it doesn't bring much to us personnally!

I used to be like this (even worse actually)... Let me tell you what I learned: You ARE NOT an introvert. It’s a story that you’re telling yourself (or that others told you growing up). Realize that you are simply scared of people and that other people are just as scared of you (no matter how high status, attractive, tough, or whatever they may be).. Become present to that reality and allow yourself to experience the feeling of the fear (and accept it & let it be - don’t try to change it) and still step into the action of talking to others anyways.. Get in the habit of saying hi and starting conversations with people on a regular and eventually it’ll become second nature. I used to be considered “introvert” my whole life until 20 and now I’m considered more “extrovert” than most of my “extrovert” friends were. Introversion is a state of mind and to break it you need to get out of your fuckin head and start living your life. Now.

Ray Mcdonalds You mean you rahter would talk to someone that doesn't care about you than not talk at all? There are a lot of sick people out there, introversion/shyness is just a strategy to deal with that fact in saying 'I will limit my friends and choose them carefully' instead of doing the numbers game (1000 new friends and some will be a hit). I see no real disadvantage here. Ask some 'extroverts' in how many shitholes they step. The problem of introverts/shy_people is 1) they get framed as losers and 2) they often want too much: being introvert/shy AND having all those friends and chicks, you can't have it both ways. Once you settle, you'll be ok with what you are. A cat is a cat and shouldn't look to become a bird, but rather value her catness.

ostihpem having someone to talk implies it's a friendship, not small talk. You're better off having a friendship than not having one. You've gone insane to suggest 1000 friends, nobody needs that much.

Fantastic job to the filmmakers who made this. No dialogue - the whole story told through action. People don’t realise how rare and difficult that is. And the music fitted perfectly. To everyone involved, especially the director, keep doing what you’re doing because you have talent and this didn’t go unnoticed. This is real filmmaking!

I am pretty much sure there is lots of 'shyness' aggregated in this video. Introverts can be shy but this 'block' into talking is shyness - has nothing to do with being analytical.

I'm kind of a antrovert and i'm stuck between "i'm shy, I can't blur out a single word" and "Imma own this place like it's my bitch" way too often. as a child I used to be super shy, but in the past few years I kind of grew over (even tho I still get those little shy moments)

Oh gosh, this is soooo accurate. Except its more one sided. I literally imagine my whole life with someone when I so much as catch their eyes for a second. And I imagine that they are thinking the same, like in films, I watch too many films. But then they walk away. Its all in my head, but its comforting to think that there might be someone someday thinking the same about me, but mostly I think they wont notice me if I don't talk to them, and if I talk to them, I'll be wasting their time, even if they are not doing anything else. I'm currently in the process of building a pick 'n' mix advent calendar for my crush because of something he said in a conversation. I'm 99% sure he'll never like me... so I'm gonna tell him in the form of a extravagant romantic gesture, as a self esteem boost for him if anything (not that he needs it), and because I never tell anyone how I feel and I need somewhere to put all the thoughts and care and time I've spent trying to get to know him, instead of it never reaching the surface and just fizzling away. I'm such a sad looser! 😂 😔

Yeah this is very relatable. We tend to overthink things and think of possible worst case scenarios and go I'll do it later/soon. We don't take opportunities.

Oh man, that's depressing. Thirty seconds in and it's already familiar. The saddest part is that these kinds of scenaria make me really unfocused and it affects my grades too. Wish I was different, man. Extroverted or unromantic, I don't care, a more fortunate situation possibly.
