I remember when I used to go to school I was known as the 'shy girl' by everyone. When I was in middle school, it happened in gym, there was a girl talking to her friends, she called my name and asked how old I am, I said my age and she said, "See? That's the only way she'll talk to you!" and laughing a bit, I never thought of it and went on to what I was doing. No one ever really talked to me since it went around school that I never talk. Others assumed that I never talk since they heard it from someone else, and see me (not talking/quiet), even teachers and office staff noticed it, but they also noticed my kind personality. I'd say that I relate more with teachers than the people I went to school with, besides my friends. I may have been the quietest, but I was also a very smart person, the kind people go up to for answers or how to solve questions on their classwork, or copy homework. Some questions the teachers asks the class that no one answered but I already knew what it was- I just don't want to give it away. Don't get me wrong, some people talked to me, even had conversations with me. However, when there were partner projects, I was ALWAYS the only one without a partner, or a group (unless I had a friend in a class with me). It at first bothered me, but I got used to it and decided to work on my own. I only talk to people when they talk to me. But I don't open up to people easily, but when I do and become friends with them, I'm always by their side and they'll see the goofy, more extroverted side of me! I have a few friends, but I like to keep my circle small. But the simple moral of the story is this: Never judge introverts everyone, if you actually go up and talk to them, everyday, they'll become used to you and they'll be some of the most interesting people you'll ever meet. *There are some introverts still waiting to be adopted :D* *If you read this far, I thank you for being patient and reading this. I'm sorry for talking so much, I'm an author, so I type more words than I think I type.*

@@kidmundane8029 Yes. An introvert just means someone who recharges when they're alone rather than around other people. An introvert can be the life of the party and know how to socialise but still prefer to be at home. An introvert can also be nonsocial and shy, there's many different types tho that is the stereotype when people think of the word introvert. Bottom line is introverts get energy from being alone/in a place they think is comfortable and extroverts get it from being around people.

My whole life I watched extroverts get rewarded (especially in high school and college). They got the fame, girls and attention. It also looked like they had more fun. So I forced myself to be an extrovert and eventually became very extroverted with my personality. I traveled the world, threw parties, fought mma in front of thousands of people and gave speeches as a teacher in front of hundreds. What I found out was forcing myself to be an extrovert was very exhausting and created a lot of anxiety. When I threw parties I was so anxious and overthinking that I couldnt even enjoy them. There is some truth to this video, sometimes we are naturally wired to be a certain way, learn to enjoy your natural qualities and be content with that. We introverts are the most fascinating people with a mysterious personality. That's the beauty of us, we are someone within ourselves and we prefer not to show it to the world. Don't be ashamed to be an introvert, embrace your qualities, don't try to hide who you really are. Be you! Cuz that's when you can live *your* life to the fullest 😉

Same, except next month it'll be 40 years. For the first half of my life I felt bad about it, thinking I needed to "fix" myself and try to become something I'm not. Then I got tired of the frustration and accepted and embraced who I am as I am. It took a lot of effort, but I am more comfortable with myself than I have ever been. I still get the odd "you're so quiet" comment, it's still a little triggering but I just shrug it off.

I'm actually an "outgoing introvert", which basically means i love interacting with people and making new friends, but at the end of the day social interaction will always drain me and i still prioritize alone time, and it's kind of hard for me to be social if i'm not already with a few close friends (for example, in a class where i have no friends i won't speak to anyone, but in one where i have a couple i'll be super chatty and outgoing)

@@Yassi_gorl I do understand that feeling. Regrets on memories that could have been made and bonds that could have been formed. It does get lonely trying to be yourself. What I had in mind was that you can interact, go out more and stuff but in a way you don't judge yourself or try to be someone else. You know have fun but always be you in ways that you've yet to discover. If you have good friends that you are comfortable being with them. I'm sure they understand your feelings, if they don't then you can tell them about it. Ask to spend time with them. It don't have to be something very unique, start from something simple. Be bold and yes be shy like shit out it later. This is how I do now. I don't have to say much around them because they understand me. You may feel left out in that situation. If so, then say some things that you want time to time instead of anxiety filling you up.
