You already created the lore, but my initial impression is that of a reconnaissance and electronic warfare vessel, much in the same mold of the old USAF EF-111, also called the Raven. 😉

@@venomgeekmedia9886 Computer processing requires a lot of power and active jamming requires even more more power. These systems run hot, cplacing even greater demand on power. As such, a larger vessel would be required. That is why the E-3 Sentry has a bigger, more powerful radar than any air/surface surveillence helicopter. Ergo, a vessel that is larger, with a bigger engine/powerplant, but less room for more weapons and munitions.

Like you said, It's a bit of a redundant design, but it's a testament to its design and niche capability that it managed to carve out it's own distinct place in the fleet.

I wouldn't say redundant? Although soon obsolete

I’ve always pronounced it “Nae-eer” The smaller variant aspect is most interesting, and really shows iust how unprepared everyone was for the dominion. It’s not like they thought of making the smaller variant more heavily armed or anything, they assumed it would only be good for reconnaissance anyway…attack ships really hit the quadrant out of nowhere

Great ship chat of the Romulan Raven class. Hope to see a ship chat of the IRW Melak and compared it to the Vmelak class you used in the past and it's dimensions are in the future.

You said that the person who designed the ship and had it on their website said that it was produced right after the destruction of praxis. What if that was when the original design was proposed but was shot down because they already had a bunch of good designs already in use. Then, when the Tomed incident occurred, someone pulled out the old design, made a few minor tweaks, changed what its official roll would be, and presented to the Romulan Senate where it finally got approved for official development and production.

I don't know if you've covered this before but would you say a quantum singularity drive is like a nuclear powered ship were as an antimatter core is like a petrol/diesel engine?

I don't have a vessel analogy, but I have one for home heating. The quantum singularity engine is analogous to geothermal heating while the antimatter engine is analogous to fuel based heating (natural gas, oil, coal, wood, etc.). Geothermal taps into the energy of the earth while quantum singularity taps into the structure/fabric of space itself.

I would have liked this to have reverse firing weapons like the Cobra Night raven/firefox, it can fire on pursuers and uses its speed and stealth as its main defence.

@@venomgeekmedia9886 Romulans seem too practical to have a use for windows honestly. Always expect their ships to have “slick” hulls with minimal details beyond panel lines and sensor grids.
